It's obviously going to be S.T.A.L.K.E.R..

With Stalker (as .avi and .epub) and Roadside Picnic (as .epub) as goodies.

JMich: My opinion is that the 500th game will be delayed, since when TET was responding saying that the 500th game would be sometime in January, and that they have something special planned, they weren't aware of XIII being removed from the catalogue. Thus if they keep the scheduled release schedule, the special game would be the 499th. Thus the game will be released later on, but I don't want to make any assumptions on what it will be.
Double release today. Problem solved, I guess.

441635: Would be nice to see the No One lives Forever serie appearing on GOG for the 500th release, something like a bundle "No One Lives Forever 1 + 2" with extras like the soundtracks, pretty wallpapers, manuals, etc.
Oh, that would be amazing. NOLF 2 is one of my favorite shooters of all time.

Did they say that they had an interesting release planned, or that they had interesting THINGS planned? Because that second one means anything from "highly requested release" to "indie 2D platformer with physics and a simultaneous Steam launch... AND a contest".
It bet it's gonna be Fuck Quest.
Wait... I just figured it out... which well known independant developer is releasing a game this month with heavy involvement by former LucasArts bigwigs?

It's going to be The Cave...

Hopefully they make a GAG (Good Adult Games) subsite soon.

I wouldn't mind a few good adult games, like Knights of Xentar. That's one brilliant, hilarious game.

Isn't The Cave being published by Sega?

JudasIscariot: It's not mockery :D. I used to do the same thing, guess at which game was coming for a certain occasion. I can't guess anymore for obvious reasons but I still like to haunt these threads :D
You are cruel, cruel man :)

Are there any special plans to celebrate the 500th game on GOG or is it going to be just a number?

Seems like a good milestone to celebrate with something special to me. :)

Huh... yeah, it is. Thank goodness. Sorry to sound so happy about it not being a Double Fine game, but I'd like the 500th release to be something I can't just as easily get elsewhere.

Well that's confirmation right there!

A translated version of Monster Girl Quest. Now that would be a surprise

To be honest I support the idea - well, in fact I would just appreciate if distributors had a less strict "no porn" policy. I've seen a few games over the years that are mainly remembered for being porn or hentai but which actually are interesting titles, like Knights of Xentar that you mentioned (although that one isn't even as graphic as some people seem to remember it). Also I remember some live action adventure game which included some softcore porn scenes but which didn't necessarily have a worse production value than many other adventures of that kind - and it certainly wasn't a title that you'd only find in sex shops, I've seen it at regular vendors that offer video games but it still seems too mature for today's major digital distributors. Also Wet - The Sexy Empire and Biing! come to my mind.

Didn't know that game, I'd like to see it appearing on GOG. Thanks for posting that link, I just discovered a nice oldie.
