Theme Hospital and The Neverhood. Both are masterpieces to replay after some years.

I wish they could do a proper sequel to any of those or Dungeon Keeper...

evilguy12: I thought it was published by Dreamworks Interactive, who were taken by EA.

Taleroth: Quick wiki lookups and you're correct. Now known as EA Los Angeles.
Learning something new is good.
And how cool it would be if the neverhood came to GOG.
Sadly, I don't think that the sound track will ever be among the extras because you can still buy it from the composer's site. http://www.danielamos.com/store/index.html . It's a great soundtrack, I do recommend it to everyone.

drmlessgames: Look it up. The engine that Underworld used is the one that was used in System Shock 1. It was a very cutting edge engine at the time.

Ketzerfreund: That's right, UU could do slopes and bridges and height-dependant targeting long before Duke3d. But that's not what I meant with "Where did you get that from". I meant your statement that "it was made by Origin themselves" - because that's not true.
Understood, yea, it was developed by looking glass with warren spector leading the effort. The underworld games and system shock are amazing games but have a somewhat blunt, ugly controls, and most people don't want to get used to them. I know there was a rewrite to the system shock engine that streamlines the controls, maybe there's an underworld release too since they have the same engine.

Actually, I find the controls less bad than they are often said to be. It's basically SXZC instead of WASD. Sure, it might not have been the brightest idea to put 'jump' on J in UU, and the keyboard mapping galore of SS with leaning, crouching, going prone could be taxing at times, but I guess it made sense at the time w/o mouse look. At release, even in Duke3d mouse look wasn't turned on by default: It still used the arrow keys for movement and Ctrl/Alt for fire/strafe - like Doom. When you configure SS to use mouse-look, you'll still have to face all those keys for leaning, crouching, toggling hud screens etc. You practically only get rid of the A- and D-keys for turning. I fail to see how that would make the controls so much better.

And on-topic:
I'd actually like to have GOG make a deal with Eidos, for that may well be the other half of what is needed for a release of System Shock!

svmariscal: Syndicate (yes I already know, but still...)
What do you already know... Is there something I need to know?

Getting the first Syndicate would make me immeasurably happy.

Yes, unfortunately they said Syndicate is out of this particular deal with EA, as well as System Shock. I hope this means they're still trying to grab the license.

They are still trying. They gave the infinity engine games as an example, which weren't part of the initial deal with Atari because of "scattered licenses" but eventually made it to their catalog anyway. The Syndicate and System Shock games are in a similar situation... And EA is one part of the license puzzle for those games, so it's a step in the right direction :-) it's just gonna take a bit longer.
American McGee's Alice

PLEASE?
I would second someones earlier comment about the Jane's series of simulators. All of them would be great, but F-15 would brighten my day. I have been unable to get my hard copy working on Win 7... stupid menu problem.

Other than that, the Ultima games, all the Wing Commander games (+ expansions please), Strike Commander, Wasteland, Legacy of the Ancients.... too many to list.

I'll just wait and see whats in store.
well alice the orginal now...cuz now that i been lied too im stuck with one without the original :D! always the greatist thing to be falsly told something huh!
