JudasIscariot: We gave Fallout for free as well...what's your say on that one? :D
But only once. RoA was given away several times.

And with Fallout you changed it from the UK to the US version sneakily, so that is forgiven ;-P.

They did? Good to know, will have to download the new version then, thanks!
Definitely Powermonger. It never got the credit it deserved.

If you've not played it, please go and vote for it.

It deserves to be on GOG. I cant see why it isn't here already as GOG have EA on board already.

Yes, a real classic... and could come here together with Mega-Lo-Mania :)
Played both so much and still love them :)

JudasIscariot: Tell me more. What have we done to that series that is not right, in your opinion?

edit. changed some wording around because context :D

SimonG: You gave it away for free, like some cheap country skank it was available for everybody!

Something given has no value! People should cherish it and not have feel it is the token fat girl on the GOG shelf date!

(And of course the problem that you don't have the German or CD version, but that is beyond your control, so I won't hold it against you)
At the beginning I wanted to oppose you because I distinctly remember that you hosted RoA3 giveaway but then I recalled it was not really freely given since you demanded that participants should play first two parts before taking part in it (brothel screenshots AFAIR)... it is an entire different story then so I hereby withdraw my first impression that you're contradicting yourself ;)

On the other hand I would probably never play RoA and because it was given for free I did and highly appreciate the series so there are some bright sides of GOG's action...
Just saw this thread and wanted to say thanks...discovered some interesting games that I've wishlisted while waiting on the next sales to come around :).
Gotta go with the original poster's choice. Myth: TFL was awesome. I'm replaying it along with Myth II using the Myth II Project Magma patch (supports widescreen and lets the games run on modern computers in high res).

Actually, it's the only RTS game I've ever really liked. It got rid of all the annoying resource management, collection, and building of most RTS games and let me focus on the tactics of combat, which is the best part of an RTS anyway.

StingingVelvet: The original Assassin's Creed... more to the point, less distractions.
Agreed. And the only one faithful to its title.

Ghorpm: Tzar: The Burden of the Crown
Among my favourite RTS's. I specially liked its map editor.
Monster Hunter.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader. (Were the X-wing series really better?)

...And my kind of Survival Horror like Resident Evil 1 Remake :(

They're different. Rogue Squadron games are arcade-action games whereas the X-wing series are non-newtonian (which Star Wars doesn't follow anyway) space-sims.
Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri, everone is full of System Shock or Thief when it comes to Looking Glass Productions but no one ever names this gem.

Project Eden, again from a developer who produced a franchise that completely overshadows this game which never got a lot of attention.

I very much enjoyed the aforementioned titles and have my hopes up that they will be released on GOG this year, which shouldn't be too much of a problem since the publishers are on board and there aren't technical issues with them afaik.

For a title that is underappriciated and is on GOG I would say Star Wolves, again I found this game to be incredibly fun but everyone keeps hammering on how amateurish the voice acting is and that it isn't as good as Homeworld, ignoring the fact that this game plays very differently to Homeworld in almost every way and that the voiceacting is actually amusing.

So your saying that the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games are more realistic gameplay wise like the ships have weight?

Not only that. You have complete control over your vessel. Need some extra speed? Transfer extra energy to the engines. Your shields are failing? Give 'em a quick boost by rerouting energy from your cannons. And so on.

In the X-wing games, you need to learn to control your ship in more ways than just facing the enemy and shooting. By the time you can do that, you'll know the advantages and disadvantages of each ship type you're flying. You'll also know top speeds under different energy configurations by heart and maybe even how many torpedo hits certain capital ships take before they go down, and many more things. The games expect you to become an expert to in order to be an efficient pilot, in short.

The missions can also get pretty damn complex, so yeah, Rogue Squadron and the X-Wing games are two pretty different beasts.

Cool if only X-Wing Sims can go from this

to this

Graphically, then it will be even more immersive.
Severance - Blade of Darkness. Playing through the turd that is Demon Stone reminded me of how great Severance was as a melee combat simulator - I'm not sure any game released since is its equal. Huge pity this game isn't on GoG.
