Simple post....what is going on? I thought this was Good Old Games at a low price, not Brand New Games at shop price.

There are plenty of sites we can get all the new games....keep it real, keep it hardcore and stick to bringing back classics guys

They're still bringing in old games. They just put Colonization in, and all 3 Tomb Raider titles for 10$ is a steal.
Yeah, I'm sure this thread was worth making.

I don't think GOG's focus on older games has become worse.

They still offer old games and they still update the library weekly. They just offer newer Indie games aswel.

You are quite late to the party. We had this discussion for days and threads weeks ago. But many here share your sentiment (me included). So far GOG has not released less "oldschool" games in the 2 month of their rebranding than they did in the average before that. The new games were mostly "on top".

Still, GOG has alone in the Eidos catalogue more than enough games to get through the summer, so some additional releases would be nice. But hey, that's GOG. They kept WC 4 from us for nearly a year without the change in concept.

TL:DR: the refocus on adding also new games hasn't changed the ratio of releasing old games in any significant way.

gameon: Well actually Colonization is only $5.99. And the three tomb raiders are $9.99 as a bundle.
I did not say Colonization costs 10 dollars. And i said "ALL 3 Tomb Raider titles"...

gameon: You said: "They just put Colonization in, and all 3 Tomb Raider titles for 10$ is a steal"

That just looked like you were including both games as $9.99 titles. Cant blame me for seeing it that way.

I believe you when you say you didn't mean it.
Very well.... They put Colonization in for 6 $ and all 3 Tomb Raider titles bundled together for 10$. Better?
LAst time I checked they still were releasing more oldies than new games. I was worried at first too, but for now everything is going in right direction.

1. I think GOG is no longer an abbreviation of anything. You don't buy games from Good Old Games, just GOG.com.
2. There was a community survey in, I don't know, Christmas or new year or some such. There were a number of questions, including whether we would accept the release of newer/indie/console games, how much we would be willing to pay for a good new game and so on. The trouble with a democracy is that the people don't know what's best for them.
3. So really, if you have to blame someone, it has to be the community. Sorry.

That's a joke, right? They're not really gonna put console games , are they?
Are we going through this again? Look, be hardcore as much as you like, but the thing is nobody is limiting you here. Unless you have some serious OCD, having a new game next to an old one in the catalogue will not "corrupt" the latter. This isn't some huge paradigm shift, just sailing into new waters.

gameon: Well stuff like tomb raider was on ps1. Stuff like FF7 and Metal Gear solid were released on pc aswell. Any games like that could be brought to GOG.
No, i meant games for consoles, not ports.
They still sell plenty old games if you follow the timeline for 2012. Nothing is hardcore about that, it's just nostalgia and part of our childhood.
