timppu: I don't have time to play yet, but I just installed MegaTF in Win8, and upon launching it I get:

Run-time error '10014': Invalid argument

Maybe I am missing some component in Win8 or blaablaablaa. I don't have much time to look at it at the moment.

timppu: Ummm, no thanks. Maybe there is some easier fix.
Are you trying to run it form the server browser? If you are then just run the quakeforge client it comes with, as stated in my previous posts. You can use the connect command to join servers.
