I hope I'm not alone in thinking that the ads they have for today's game make it sound an awful lot like Diablo. Then again, that could just be me.

People have been trying to apply half of them to Diablo... wishful thinking I guess ;)
EA or LA, or some other big publisher.
Honestly? I'd very gladly take either (or both :D) really. Both companies have a massive back catalog that I would happily spend my money gathering. If I absolutely *had* to choose I'd go with EA cause as much as I'd like say, Grim Fandango or KotOR2, I'd be absolutely ecstatic if System Shock 2 rolled in. <3
Considering both how much of LA and how little of classic EA I've played, I'd rather it be EA. A large portion of LA's games are adventure, and adventure games get much less fun after playing them for the 10th time.
I would love it to be EA just for the amount of stuff they have that are just screaming for the gog.com treatment; for example I'd love to play SimCopter again without having to throttle three of my processors just to get it to work.

To be honest though, even if it's not in the announcement today, I know it'll happen someday. They got Ubisoft, they got Atari...everything else is just a matter of time. I'm patient...ish.
EA have the larger catalogue but Lucasarts make up for it with the sheer quality of some of their titles.. Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, the Monkey Island series.. I'd be very happy if it was Lucas but just as happy with EA.

Maybe it'll be both!

Aliasalpha: EA gives quantity, Lucasarts gives quality.

Pretty much every Lucasarts game was a truly outstanding piece of work easily outshining the efforts of their contemporaries.

That said, if Syndicate, Crusader or Bioforge show up in the games list in the morning I'll be rapidly broke

StingingVelvet: I get the quality versus quantity thing, but considering how large EA's catalog is I think their quality outnumbers Lucasarts in the long run.

Also if it is EA I would hope (bet?) that today's release is System Shock 2.
I would hope it would be Grand Inquisitor because I need that game to complete my childhood PC experience.
How about both.
Both have my favourite games and franchises lol.
Actually, it'd be better if we got EA first.

When it came to the re-releases of their back catalogue, the special editions and so on, LucasArts tried mimicking EA in their tasteless marketing and DRM choices and general disregard for fans and customers. If EA comes to GOG, LucasArts is gonna be all "Oh hey, EA can do GOG, so can we!"

So yes, EA first. LucasArts will follow.

I must admit I felt a little scared when I clicked on the images.

Buuut...
I think I'd choose EA, just because they own the Bullfrog titles.
Otherwise Lucasarts for the Monkey Island games.

It's a tough choice, but I want to play Dungeon Kepper and Theme Hospital again. ;___;

I dunno, I found them oddly smexy.
Eh, IDK, it's a tricky one. LucasArts have an awesome catalogue, I mean really awesome, if GOG got them it'd be the biggest addition of quality one name can bring to the library, with pretty much every title being at least good, if not great or a timeless classic.

But EA own a ton of licenses, probably loads of quality stuff we've all forgotten, not to mention loads of quality stuff we haven't, I mean I believe they own the System Shock license and those games alone would be a monumental scalp for GOG, not to mention Ultima.

In an ideal world, both, in the real world, either will be a massive addition to the library and bring us a dozen or more brilliant oldies.
