Do you remeber the game named XIII ? Well the new one will be an adventure game . Release date : November 15.

Slightly disappointing.
Since they said it's not a sequel I assume that means it won't continue where first one left off?
I really should buy the comics.
A "puzzle" adventure game. The distinction from a regular adventure game is it's usually (read: always) a cheap one screen treasure hunt where you have to find (or otherwise interact with a lifeless background) all the object listed to advance to another screen where you have to find all the object listed to advance...
I didn't played XIII, but it's on my wishlist here. I guess the righholder is still the comic publisher and Ubisoft wasn't maybe interested in another release, so it's ok to go for another genre. Maybe much better than to use another developer for the same genre. Anumram is a good developer for adventure games, so maybe really not a bad move.

Edit: Okay, didn't recognized the part about the puzzle adventure. I'm not a fan of that genre, because I prefer more storybased adventures with a kind of atmosphere, but let's see what they will do with the license.

I think puzzle adventure is more popular than FPS among casual gamers .
So they turn the one FPS that has a slightly interesting concept into something else? ...Why? If franchise starts in a certain way, why do you have to turn it into something completely different? it's completely daft.

Why 2K making an XCOM FPS ?

Exactly, except that this time theyr're actyally turning an FPS into a damn puzzle game. it's completely beyond me. I mean the whole gamimg industry has completely turned upside down.

Oh man, This here and the news that the new Jagged Alliance is going to be realtime is just too much in one day for me.

New generation , new gamers , new gaming platforms .

And that would be completely fine if they wouldn't insist on just slapping franchise names that only have value to old gamers onto their crap.
Skipped the first one, will probably skip this one too...

That's exactly how I feel. XIII was one of my favorite FPS's back on my old Power Mac G4, so I gladly bought it again on GOG. To see it turned into a mediocre TV series and a goddam casual puzzle game is heartbreaking. And then on top of that, they're bringing back MechWarrior (oh, the memories playing MechWarrior 2 on my 120 MHz Performa) as an F2P MMO. UGH.
Well at least it has the potential to not suck. If it was an FPS it would probably be a COD clone so it isn't all bad.

The franchise wasn't an FPS to begin with though. The shooter was based on a comic book series.

Yeah I was going to mention the same. The story was poor man's Bourne Identity anyway.

I liked the FPS though.
