What the frick?

I tried three different credit cards and got the same response. I checked all three cards, and all three are valid. No problems. Is there an issue with GOG? I got around the issue by using PayPal, but I'm hoping this is not a regular occurrence. I had no troubles before, so I don't know what's going on now.

I'm in the U.S. Maybe the banks are denying foreign transactions or something with those foreign transaction fees? Not sure. I just find it awfully weird that three cards from three different banks were denied payment.

Just wondering if anyone else got this problem too, and if it's a website error that is leading to the wrong page.
Have you tried phoning your bank ? Maybe they block web payments through your credit card ?
Or maybe it was a small amount and they thought it was some kind of fraud...

It may have something to do with the fact that payments to GOG go through Cyprus, which is blacklisted by some banks. You probably need to talk to your bank and tell them that these transactions are legitimate.
Got this 5 minutes ago. I bought 2 games separately. First one went through fine, second gave me the "your bank declined...". Went back, tried again without changing anything, took a bit for the page with the confirmation to load but it worked ok. Maybe it's something with their systems right now acting crazy :)
Call your bank and explain the problem so they can look into it.
iv had my bank decline small frequent payments from online retailers as a security thing. iv had it decline on the spot, or after one all ok transaction.
maybe its the same?
Same here, something doesn't work.

Normal Mastercard.

Edit: Some technical problem I suspect, payment went through 15 minutes later.

As others have said you need to contact your bank directly regarding this. Banks are taking protection of user details all the more seriously these day with the promotion and wide spread use of plastic as opposed to cash. Thus online and mail order (esp overseas or for very large amounts or to different addresses then the cards registered) banks will block payments - expecting you to contact them if its legitimate to sort it out.

Heck I've even had shops refuse orders (or at least phone to confirm) if the delivery address doesn't match the cards registered address.
When you talk to your bank, ask about foreign transactions. Many banks have introduced wide-ranging blocks for "card not present" (which includes online) transactions with a number of countries. Cyprus, where GOG is incorporated, is on almost all of those lists. They will tell you it is because of a high rate of fraud from those countries. You will have no recourse except to seek out a different bank.

If you have bank troubles with GOG, the easiest alternative is to use Paypal instead.
I am guessing this is a problem on GoG's end. I just tried multiple cards on multiple accounts at multiple banks and they all had the same result.

Hopefully all those charges don't suddenly go through. If that happens...does anyone want a copy of Wing Commander Privateer and Theme Hospital? I might have a few extras lol.
Today must be something wrong on GOG's end. I have used the same card from the same bank for years here and never one problem until today.
Same here. First time this happened to me here, and I tried the same and different cards. I had to use PayPal to buy my games.
Same here as well. Sadly I'm using only one card for payments, so can't check with other's ones. But all previous payments to GOG always went without any problems whatsoever.
Asked my friend to try to buy something via PayPal - he got "Your payment's status could not be verified due to temporary technical issues."
So yeah, I guess it's technical problems.
You guys should read more news. Cyprus is at war with itself right now. Banks are on fire, corpses litter the street. End of days.

Wonder what that means to GOG?

Well, it's kinda hard to come across news about Cyprus. I needed to google all over the place to get more-less clear idea about what happening.
And yeah, stop exaggerating stuff. =\

p.s. Just bought games I wanted - worked fine. Just some instability issues.
