I'm not sure why but my game freezes I still hear the music & then I have to alt tab out to kill it via task manager.

I've not had this many crashes with other games. I haven't had a game crash in months.

Same here, similar setup, except i run 680 and 32gb ram.

Crashing every 10-15 minutes.

I've tried disabling gog, disabling nvidia experience features, repairing the installation.

At this point the only thing i did not try is Rerolling to previous drivers, i've heard rumors these rushed out witcher 3 Nvidia drivers might be the problem, and most people who complain are running an Nvidia graphics cardc.

HELP!

I just rerolled drivers back & it crashed again. Clean install also using DDU.
I seemed to fix this by hitting optimize for TW3 in geforce experience. From what other people are saying, the specific option that fixes it might be switching to full screen mode (I think the default is borderless window).

I have been running fullscreen, but thank you.

I also just uninstalled the two addons that were released & it did not fix the problem.

vsync off did not help.

Do you have The Witcher 3 nvidia driver with optimize set in geforce experience? That is what seemed to fix it for me, I was just mentioning that other people say that the borderless window default is what causes it. Borderless window looks like fullscreen, did you manually change to fullscreen?

Yes i've manually changed it.
Anyway, like I said before, my suggestion is that you let geforce experience optimize TW3, but you keep ignoring that part.
doesn't help either(
I have just the similar situation

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Same thing. Crash every 1-2 minutes.
Reinstalled codecs, changed to fullscreen and back.
Latest nvidia drivers.

Nothing helped.

I did this too, going to full screen. In many curtscenes, the machine would either drop to desktop or seize up entirely. Switching to fullscreen seemed to help [so far].

GTX 980

I have to remember that my card really wants to run, so I set my framerate to unlimited in the Options. Also set W3 in 3D settings of my NVIDIA panel to maximize performance.

You need to try turning Vsync off AND changing the FPS cap to unlimited. This has worked for everyone else so far.
