And for one more time, witcher 1 proves to be more complete and sophisticated in micromanagement and flavor/"pointless" details.

It really had this feature.
+1
TESO has this, and it is very handy, for motifs, recipes, etc
wished they'd put icon's on the diagrams and recipes at merchants and smith's, to readily identifiy what they are. Spend to much time clicking on items just to find out what the F they are.
thought i signed this already, but i would really like this feature CDPR

Vaedian: The entire UI needs a complete overhaul.

* The Alchemy page is a mess. I "already have" 90% of my potions and there is no option to hide them.
* Same goes for the Crafting. Its nice to craft Witcher gear, but whats with all the other crap? I haven't crafted a single piece of the "normal" stuff since level 3. Let us delete diagrams or at least hide them.
* Same goes for the quest page. I just don't want to have to scroll through all the horse races and gwent players to find my next quest. Make them hideable or at the very least give them their own category.
* The "quest item" page of the inventory is totally broken, since half the quest items appear in the "other" category. I can't tell how often I sold quest items like the rose or the Enterprise communicator simply by trying to get rid of the enormous amount of trash you find on your travels.
* There is no way to hide gear from traders at all, like all the sets you need to keep to improve them later on. Storage would help, but that's nowhere in sight either. No idea who dropped the ball on that one at CDP.
* The "useable items" is yet another mess. Potions, oils, bombs and alike should have their own page and not be mixed with stupid books.

And what does CDP do instead? Increase the loot window size so god can read it from space.

Thank you so much!
Hey, God has the right to play this game too, even though he is an old bearded man with poor eyesight (ageist)!

The biggest crime in the game is a lack of storage. No idea what they were thinking on omitting this, especially with their encouragement of holding on to armor and weapons with the intent to upgrade. My "empty" weight is now 115 after selling unneeded stuff. Ridiculous!
Geralt is a fat-ass.

Buying and reading the same books over and over is fun people, get over it (/s). The merchants have to get rich somehow...

IE "/s" is sarcasm for the uninitiated, just getting used to this fun little shortcut myself.

Yes... same holds true for maps. And when shopping for alchemy stuff I always have the problem that I'm not sure if I already have a certain ingredient and how much of it. Would be useful if the game showed me that info!
This is a must!

The whole inventory ordering scheme needs looking at..

It's far better than the Witcher 2's inventory on release but there's still room for improvement.

Separate tabs for books, food, junk, witcher tools, mutagens etc

Instead of bundling everything under usable items.

Tags for read/unread

Old quest notes / items / keys should be destroyed when no longer needed

Other convenience features and general polish which make the difference between a good experience and a great one. I shouldn't have to fight the inventory.

the inventory "system" is horrible. I just ask myself why it is that way. Because this was always a point of interest and in heavy critics in the prequels. Can't get any worse.

There's actually a filtering system which you can uses on the crafting pages. Not sure if this was added on a patch or if it was previously missed. With the xbox controller you push your left stick to show the filter.
It's not perfect but it is great on alchemy page to get rid of those already crafted items.

I am yet to understand why they removed the already read this to the description that they had on the first game.

Leeira: Wait... so it is not like the quest items stays in the Quest-tray until you no longer need the item, then it gets to the trash-tray and you can safely sell it? I thought it would be that way and sold some items that were quest items before.
He's right. The quest items you no longer need are moved from the "Quest Item" page to either "Other Items" or "Alchemy/Crafting Items" pages(depending of what it is). Then you can sell them or dismantle them.
