Story:A two-player board game played on a hexagonal grid. Each player starts with three pawns. Players take turns moving pawns either by cloning them to an adjacent hex or jumping them to a space two hexes away. Whenever a pawn is moved, it changes all adjacent opposing pawns to its own color. The goal to either eliminate all of the opponent's pawns or to have more pawns when the board is filled.Show more

Hexxagon is a puzzle game developed by Argo Games, creators of Argo Checkers, Hexxagon II, Night Raid and ugh...*shudders*...Xenophage: Alien Bloodsport. While Xenophage: Alien Bloodsport is rightly heralded as one of the worst fight games ever and one of Apogee's greatest mis-fires, effectively ending Argo Games as a game developer, Argo Game's earlier works were fun and perfectly serviceable puzzle games. Hexxagon was the first game I ever purchased with my own money as a child. Picked up in a giant bulk outlet shop while with a friend, I purchased it on sale in a Titanium Seal Blister pack that I still own and treasure today. On a single floppy disk and with a cover picture of various heavily pixelated board layouts from the game, it actually related to the game inside (a rarity for most Titanium Seal releases), I was excited to install it when I got home. When I did, I discovered a charming little puzzle game, where you would split your pieces or jump, in an effort to dominate the board with more pieces than your opponent. It offered 3 different difficulty levels against an opponent known as the Craniac, the last of which was a real challenge to young me. A few games in and I started to dabble with the built in board editor, a simple and quick to use editor that could save up to 5 different board designs that I quickly occupied with some classics of child's creative mind: - The board that had only one open space and I got to move first before the CPU. - The board where my staring pieces outnumbered the opponent hugely. - The board which was a smiley face. Being a fairly simple but fun and stylishly presented puzzle game, Hexxagon is one of the best presented puzzle games of the time, with smooth animations and a crisp, clean interface that is a good option for preservation, given it's place in MS-DOS and shareware history, although if sold it would make sense to bundle it with Hexxagon II and probably Argo Checkers too to make it worth the money.

Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Be an evil, malevolent god and the natives will worship you with fear in their eyes. Play as a kind, benevolent god and they will worship you with love in their hearts. Your actions decide whether you create a heaven or hell for your worshipers. Then select a creature from the land to act as your representative in the world. Raise it to gigantic proportions and teach it to do your bidding--whether the animal grows into an evil colossus of mass destruction or a kind and gentle giant is up to you. Progress through the game's rich storyline performing powerful miracles to battle other deities and become the world's supreme god.

With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.
