It saddens me to hear that GOG has been struggling financially over the last few months, but I also realize that it's not the end of the world for them. One suggestion I would like to pass on to the staff would be to open a merch store that sells clothing, and other material that would be great for marketing. I sincerely hope that GOG will take concrete steps in order to improve their situation. That being said, what are some other [constructive] suggestions that you would give to GOG that might help them succeed?
I still have my GOG shirt from back when. It was nice quality.
Giant stuffed GOG Bear Merch
Per marketing, this may be unrealistic (because of shareholders), but I think Cyberpunk 2077 should include a free GOG voucher of some kind, like get a $10 GOG game of your choice. Or (more extreme) buy C2077, get Witcher 3 code free on GOG.

I do agree that it seems like GOG should do more to get their name out there, though maybe their research suggests the money spent wouldn't be worth it, or maybe they have been trying and I just haven't seen it. Do they still visit gaming conventions like PAX? Would they buy physical signage in the US like billboards? :P I also still like the idea of GOG cards like Steam cards, but again, might not be worth it.

Remember DRM-free pizza and beer? And the DRM-free cookies the "booth babes" made circa 2010? ;)

I believe HereForTheBeer sent me his (black and white) shirt to show appreciation for the work I used to do trying to help get games on GOG. I should wear it more.

If they launched a tabletop game of Cyberpunk 2077 (updated from the 2020 game) to coincide with the game release I think that it would be a good seller, also if they sold some of those leather jackets they gave to some of the people involved in Cyberpunk 2077 I think that would be a good seller too.
Anything but mugs. There are enough mugs in this world.
Go the KISS route.

Shirts, shorts, bags, shoes, mugs. steins, towels, headbands, watches, clocks, dolls, AFL teams, condoms, caskets.

You think I'm joking?

As you say, marketing/visibility is a big issue. But common complaints that I've seen are that Steam has wider selection of currencies and more specific regional pricing, making GOG's games either more expensive or unobtainable in comparison, I think that's a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

Mugs yes, but I would pay top dollar for a quality GOG thermos. My Star Citizen one has been to hell and back and due for retirement soon.
As much as I love GOG, they never really put much effort into marketing their games.

Efforts are made in places.

As for merch, there's fake stores knocking around twitter...and some real stuff on Ebay *wink wink nudge nudge say no more pm me*
I can imagine the "I was community manager for 6 months and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!"-tees to become a bestseller.
Why only the normal stuff like mugs and shirts?
Wanna make all the dosh? GoG-Chan Bodypillow!
I don't think physical merchandise is a good thing, at least when you got digital goods. Digital stuff costs $0 to reproduce, while a sweater or GOGBear Mug would cost more, and take up warehouse space, ect.

This. I've seen a lot of comments saying GOG is too expensive compared to Steam. They need to expand their regional pricing.
