Sabin_Stargem: I don't think physical merchandise is a good thing, at least when you got digital goods. Digital stuff costs $0 to reproduce, while a sweater or GOGBear Mug would cost more, and take up warehouse space, ect.
Yeah, a physical merch store is a bad idea for a small place like Gog, expecially in periods of financial troubles.
There are shops specialised in making and selling items like these for companies that do not want to have their own warehouse and shop. The cut for GOG would be smaller then, naturally, but a few items that give visibility would not be bad. Bags, Tshirts, quality mousepads... I own like thirty mugs already despite giving a dozen away to a friend.

tinyE: Go the KISS route.

Shirts, shorts, bags, shoes, mugs. steins, towels, headbands, watches, clocks, dolls, AFL teams, condoms, caskets.

You think I'm joking?
You are obviously exaggerating...

I have some merch stuff (shirt, bag, beer glass) that GOG gave us when we visited their HQ at Warsaw. It's really nice and of very good quality.

But I guess it would be too expensive to produce it at that quality and distribute it worldwide.

Jesus, now that even surprises me, and I'm a KISS fan. XD
I was wondering why they didnt bother to reopen the tiny merchanise store they had for a while near the beginning....
For a merchandise store it all comes down to where it is being shipped from, most of the time for me it's the shipping fees that kill a sale.

True, but sometimes you can actually get good rates from countries outside of the U.S. I'm not sure what the rates are like in Poland, but I'm sure it can't be all that different from getting something shipped from China or the U.S.

Don't forget the Scooby-Doo crossover movie.

And Phantom of the Park, or is that what you were referring to?

No no, they made an actual animated Scooby-Doo/Kiss movie.

Not sure about merchandise, I suppose if you got the stuff made in sweatshops in China and India you could keep the prices down. But it's not for me.

No, my suggestion is SEX. It sells, and the word in capital letters and boldface attracted your eyes to this message. Games about it would attract people with money to spend in the same way. They need to provide something that others do not, and Steam does not- not really they caved in.
GOG should advance into the real world of adult games and give people an easy place to get them and they will soon be rolling in dosh. Send a bogus complaint email to every conservative news outlet in the world and then you don't even need to pay for advertising (this exact advertising method has been used before in the game industry).

I remember back in the 90's how a pay TV provider in France provided data that showed 90% of households subscribed to the adult channel as part of their package. Yet a quick physical survey showed only 10% admitted it.
