Just because, an answer is needed for clarification (i hope it will be more clear):

1 & 2

Yes & no, (and this is my choice, never said the contrary)
Since i accept to install only one client on my systme, and since it's a mandatory to d/l games on steam. I don't want to install another client. (again my choice, i admit a client makes thinkgs easier for patching, that would be hypocrit to not admit it). I accept aswel a delay for patches...

After that, i agree with you about changing to the steam version seems ridiculous, except, i have DOS2 on GOG, and actually patching the game works only with the client due to the issue at hand with the acutal patch. (it worked before the definitive update, again i written to Larian, for asking some explanations before to ask to the GOG support). It's possible at a later point, a standalone patch will be avaible...

The issue is there, and only there, sorry if imy explanation wasn't clear.

As far i know, since i accept the drawbacks due to the time for patkaging offline installers / patches, it seems to me reasonable to expect offline patches for a game (especially the ones which have a huge size for their installers). I never said i want the day a new update is published an offline patch too..but this situation for this game is not acceptable & nobody Larian / GOG menitoned anything (as far i know)

Sorry for the typos & english errors (no translator used)

And also sorry, if i hickjack this topic, that wasn't my intention... :-(

I was a backer for both gamss , never got a problem with the 1st one, if that matters (but the 1st one got an additional enrry in my library , not the seoond one.. ) The second received a masssive update (no copy of the non-definitve one & ofc patches deleted).

And for the record, i asked a steam copy instead after i submitted my choice in the Larian Vault, but it wasn't possible to change this choice.,

PS : i don't hink it's a language barrier, i rather think both of us, responded to some posts which weren't really or partially directly to them & apologies accepted. (i know i make some typos & english errors while writing in english, but if i doubt written posts there in french would be helpfull for most of them).

It is reasonable to expect offline patches for a game. It's reasonable not to want to download 45GB with each tiny update. I was never arguing against that.

Again, I don't disagree with you. My only point was it doesn't mean Galaxy is mandatory for any random user on GOG. You feel it is personally mandatory due to your situation, because using Galaxy would make thing easier, I understand that. But that is clearly a personal feeling and not what GOG actually meant when they said Galaxy would be optional.

As long as GOG can claim a game (any game) in full with all patches can be downloaded without Galaxy then claiming Galaxy is optional is completely accurate.

I hope GOG does something to improve the situation for you, I really do. I've dealt with data caps and slow internet connections my whole life, the ISP's in the United States is bad in a lot of areas. So trust me I understand how downloading 45GB for each update can be personally unacceptable.
