BlackThorny: So I was wondering and quite interested in your opinion - how do you consider how much to spend on a bundle? :)

I know some Anti-Drm advocates that will buy at 0.99$ point just to support the DRM-Free copies and NOT get a steam key.
But what if the whole bundle is Steam only (like the recent Nordic)? will you still spend 0.99$ and give all to humble/charity?

I suppose most pay the 1$ when possible and sometimes BTA on relevant bundles (I did a BTA once so far, but I'm new to this).

How about the upper tier? Is it just to support the developers (or specialty occasions like charity/whatnots)?
As I suppose most people who are after that sort don't turn to humble for exclusive/pre-order/early access as (other then rare extremities) these are available in other places much sooner. As I don't care at all for fast delivery, I rather just wait and get those titles once their price drops.

And would you consider paying (much) lower then 0.99$ for titles that have limited interest to you that you don't care enpugh to get on steam but would still like an option to check them out?If so, do you feel that going for the bare minimum is considered taking advantage of the offer?

Your humble opinions are very much appreciated! :) {please reply to this post if you do as It will be much easier to follow in this mega thread}

HypersomniacLive: I assume that the affirmative way you made that statement about some DRM-free advocates means that they've admitted doing it for the reason you stated?

I am a DRM-free advocate, and if a bundle comprises exclusively of Steam titles, I simply don't buy it, as buying it sends the wrong message. And why would I want to give my money to HB in such a case? To reward them for not pushing for DRM-free alternatives to be included? /S
As for charity - I have my own charity causes that I support, and don't need HB to do so. Yes, that means that i see the charity aspect of HB mostly as a clever gimmick to entice people to buy more/ most bundles.

If a bundle contains DRM-free versions, but (most of) the games present little to no interest to me, I usually pass.

As for how much I spend, it depends on how much interest each bundle holds for me, i.e. I don't go for higher tiers if the games are of no interest, repeats or Steam exclusives. If it's the lower tier, the amount depends on how many games interest me to play or just check out, but not bellow $1, even if I personally have no use for the Steam keys (I just give them away).

BlackThorny: Yes, I've read several posts claiming to do just that "in order to send a message", though my search didn't yield results I could link atm. I suppose supporting humble for a non Drm-Free bundle is not very logical, but as they don;t give you anything in return, doing so in s steam exclusive is 100% for charity/humble for being in there in the first place, and sure makes them think as to WHY would someone do that... so it has a point.

Thanks for both answers, it was very enlightening to read :) Would be great to have some more :)

HypersomniacLive: You've lost me, can you please elaborate on the part I highlighted?
I phrased it somewhat awkward, also some miss-types got in the way... But in all - I assume that if you pay less then 1$ on a Steam exclusive bundle - this will net you a redeemable link for a blank page...
So other then just paying 0.99$ to prove a point for Drm-free that I doubt their statistics can even take into account (to disperse between other below 1$ purchases including 0.01$ ones) this case is actually causing site anomalies that are quite more visible on their side and may lead into looking at statistical values for occurrence in a Steam only bundle... But I might be just rumbling here :)

Leroux: I woudn't count on it that it makes them think or care. Usually a much better way to draw some attention to an issue is to just write an e-mail about it instead of trying to make people guess your intentions. ;)
Done that a few times, never saw a single sign pointing to them at least acknowledging that they received and read it, heaven forbid that they actually give a toss.

In that case I think it's even less likely that they would get an implicit message like "I give all my money to charity because I want DRM-free games". They'd probably just read it as "I give all my money to charity, because I support the charity cause".

Yes, it would. Which is why I see no point in doing - again, why would I want to reward HB (even if it's just cents) for offering something that doesn't include me?

My personal experience tells me that HB don't bother reading any implicit messages into the purchases made - heck, they don't bother reading clearly spelled out messages. For a while I took the course of passing the Steam exclusive bundles and sending them emails stating why, but it's proven pointless (see my previous post), so now I just purchase only if I'm actually interested in anything and manually edit how my money is split - hint: HB never gets the biggest percantage, and yes, it's a message though I have no idea if they get it or not; frankly I've stopped carrying and treat them just like any other store that has something to offer me at a price I see fit.

Agreed. To even hint that there's a message the users' actions would have to make a real dent in the statstics, which is unlikely. Even then there's need to interpret these stats.
Someone is slacking off!:p

Among the Sleep isn't that great of a deal at this time. It's on sale on Steam right now for $12 and the difference between the ATS tier and the BTA tier at this moment is $11. I guess $1 is $1, but it's not quite the value that Humble generally offers. I'm guessing they were unaware of the Halloween sale for ATS this weekend...

Sorry, first day on the job and i got lost, i take the wrong turn on the update threads and ended on the Gamersgate thread.
Look it's Our Darker Purpose and Knock Knock for Android! Here I come!
I'm only interested in Our Darker Purpose and Vertical Drop Heroes. Could somebody that bought the bundle, please, check if any of them comes with their soundtracks. Because if they don't, I would rather get Vertical Drop Heroes on GOG and wait for another bundle for Our Darker Purpose.

The only soundtrack included in Knock Knock.

Vertical Drop Heroes offers a Halloween edition DRM free in this bundle that appears not to be available on GOG.

The only soundtrack that I received with my BTA purchase was Knock-Knock.
