I'll get in on this. The Elder Scroll 5: Skyrim. Bought it full price on X Box 360 and was never disappointed with it. Bought the DLC expansions too. I was a little wary of getting it since I had previously played the Game of the Year edition of Morrowind for the original X Box. I didn't like that one very much, if only because of the battle system where an internal dice roll determined whether or not your weapon made a hit. They got rid of that in Skyrim and I was very happy. Plus, starting off with nothing and building up your character however you wanted was a nice touch as well. I really need to get back into it. My over level 100 Redguard woman has been waiting long enough.

I used to buy a fair amount of full-priced games AAA back in the day. Though don't think I've bought any since my daughter was born. Last one (pre-buy) was Guild Wars 2, I think.

IIRC I don't think I ever gought a game for its full price. I wait for the price to come down and then buy it. I don't have this pressure to play games at launch.

These weren't very recent (well, somewhen in 2007/2008), but (physical copies of) all the Gothics (1, 2 and 3 at that time). Why? Well, because I got three great games (after patches :P), met two wonderful online communities and had several thousand hours of fun. Not bad for ~ €25.

Not really in a position to buy full price games, but after having bought and played original Fallout games as soon as they were back on GOG, I do belive they are worth their full price.

I rarely buy games at full price, but this year, THE game I bought on launch day here on GOG was the Witcher 3. I loved W1 and 2, so obviously I was expecting something nice, but man! what an experience! No game has made happy like that one since Gothic, Kotor 1 or the first time I played Oblivion. My girlfriend, who's not generally into videogames, likes the Witcher universe because of the books and the TV series, so we played W3 together over the summer, and had such a nice time.

Another game, and a less pleasant experience eventually, I bought Might & Magic VII full price on launch, in 1999. I was so excited, after playing MMVI for hundreds of hours, that when my parents didn't agree to buy me the sequel, I pressured my friend into lending me the money. It would be "our" game, to "share"... and naturally the disc stayed at my place most of the time and I played way more than him who wasn't interested in RPGs in the first place. In retrospect I'm not very proud of the way I acted at this time, an overhyped teenager basically being a bit of a dick to my buddy. Not counting the fact that MM7 wasn't as good as MM6... Anyway, it's 15 years later and we are still close friends.
Moral of the story, kids, friends are more important than getting to play the latest sequel on launch day!

Vampire - The Masquerade - Bloodlines : If Memory serves the first game i ever bought full price from my own money, i even pre-ordered it. Had played Redemption previously (bought the green pepper version for 7,49€, why the f**k do i remember the price so clearly?), loved it, got into the Pen&Paper, loved it, and was really, really hyped for Bloodlines. And man, was it awesome. Still one of my all time favourites. Actually...i think i'm going to install it again right now XD

I don't think I ever purchased a game at launch price.
I have purchased games that were released in my country without discount, but their price was not the same as when they first came to market.
Also, I don't think that you mention kickstarter campaigns, thus, I don't recall ever paying the maximum price for a game.
I don't have top hardware, and I try to select only the best games of the genres I enjoy. So I tend to buy only "proven" games which are cheaper by then.
I have, however, seen games being sold much cheaper than what I paid for them, before I had a chance to play them.

I can't remember when I last paid full price for a game (unless I consider my time before I owned a PC that wasn't complete trash). I want to say it was (possibly) when I paid full price for Portal 2 but for the life of me I can't honestly recall.

Tangentially though, after having paid money for both soundtrack releases and the remix album for Shovel Knight and enjoyed them all immensely I need to put real consideration toward finally buying the game (I think I habitually buy soundtracks and then just procrastinate on buying the games for no good reason - I guess I overindulge the soundtrack collector and music lover inside me more than I should).

Not so recent, but I brought the first four Total War games at full price, and really got my money's worth out of them. I find the combination of turn based strategy and real time tactics to be very compelling and I must have spent hundreds of hours with each of the games.

Recent full price purchase:
Pillars of Eternity - I missed the kickstarter on this one, but I kept seeing video updates and knowing it was developed by Obsidian kept driving my interest in this one upwards until I broke down and bought it on GOG. I usually never pay full price for anything, but this was the Obsidian developed spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment. Chris Avellone specifically ruled out a console port because of console limitations. Everything pointed to something very special, something a fan of old school RPGs could appreciate, and I think that even with its flaws those initial hopeful sentiments were proven to be correct.

Favorite full price purchase of all time:
Thief II: The Metal Age - I waited outside a store for this game as it snowed. The first one blew me away with the emphasis on stealth gameplay, interesting world, and brilliant sound design. The sequel was everything I hoped that it would be and so much more. It improved on the original in every way, especially the sound design and gameplay. I loved that you could go through a game without killing and have it be the hardest option available. It has been in my top 3 favorite games of all time since I first played it. So worth the money.

One game that I bought full price was Civilization V. Mostly it was for my wife so she could play with her brother. I never could get into Civ too much but they did get me to play a few games with them. Totally worth it to make the wife happy :)

Money has been pretty tight here for some years now so I'm hardly able to buy games full price any more. :-(

The last time I remember buying a game full price that was fully worth it was The Witcher 1. Great setting, great character, great storytelling, great combat system (I prefered the combat system in Witcher 1 over Witcher 2 even though I know a lot of people don't since the combat in W2 feels more familiar because it is more similar to other games.), great support (free enhanced edition), ...

No matter what you say about that game you can only speak in superlatives. One of the best RPGs I have ever played.

I bought Witcher 3 at full price. No regrets. I actually pre-ordered (and the expansion pack) even though I'm anti-pre-order. CDPR has always delivered a decent game and had tremendous post-launch support so I was confident that even if the game didn't run that well at launch (*cough* Witcher 1 *cough*) that it would be fixed up and have extra content to boot. And I believe in supporting people that do me right, and voting with my wallet, and I voted heartily for CDPR and GOG. And while I did have some issues some issues at launch, W3 has been their best launch so far. As for the "dollar to hours of fun" ratio I got out of it, I'm laughing all the way to the bank.

Other recent games I paid full price for: None, because I am poor lol.
