Hi everyone.

I really like Ubisoft games, but it saddens me to see sale after sale on GOG, with no new releases. It's been years! The fact that Ubisoft has been shutting down DLC and uPlay Rewards authentication servers for their older games, makes this even more concerning.

There's not much that we can do, but I thought it may help, if we expressed interest on THEIR Discord.

If you have a Discord account, then please join, hit the up-vote arrow and comment. Let us show Ubisoft, that there is an interest! Who knows, with the recent news of their financial trouble, they may be more susceptible to consumer desires.

Following the complete Ubisoft server restructure, which wiped ALL user feedback (not just GOG), I have now recreated my GOG thread with a brand new original post, relevant to game preservation. Whether you are a new or an existing user on the Ubisoft server, you will need to grant yourself the "Other Games" role.
If you are a new joiner, you will be presented with 4 questions/pages. The 4th question/page will feature the "Other Games" role.
If you are an existing member, you will need to click on "Channels & Roles" on the top left, scroll to the bottom and select "Other Games".

(Requires the "Other Games" server role to access)

Please DO NOT post any "Stop Killing Games" campaign links there, to not antagonise Ubisoft and to avoid locking the tread.

Ubisoft have now completely restructured their server. As a result, ALL feedback (not just GOG) has been wiped out. I will remake the thread soon™.

===================================================================================================

2024.01.16

The Discord GOG thread expired due to inactivity and had to be remade, thus losing all the upvotes and comments it had. The original post of the new thread has been updated, to incorporate the recent statements made by Ubisoft. The post has been updated with the new URL.

2023.04.09

A big thank you to everyone who have contributed to my GOG Discord thread! Thanks to your support, Ubisoft have now responded with the following statement:
"Hey guys,

We'll pass this feedback on to the relevant teams but can't guarantee further GOG releases as ultimately these decisions are made by other, higher teams.

Thank you!"

While this is by no means the end of the battle, at least our desires were acknowledged. Due to the threaded nature of Ubisoft's Discord, as long as we continue to upvote and comment, the GOG thread will continue to stay at the top of their feedback channel! Thank you again!

Ubisoft will be shutting down their forums on 25/04/2023. I have updated the original post to link to Ubisoft's discord server. The original forum link can be found below, while it is still operational.

SargonAelther: If you have a Ubisoft account,
That's the roadblock for me right there. I'd love to see the original Prince of Persia, the sequel, The Forgotten Sands, and the Sands of Time Remake -- if that ever gets released. But I'm not going to sign up for a Ubisoft account so I can beg them to let me give them my money.
I am way ahead of you, in 2022 I purchased 10 Ubisoft video games from Steam and this year 1 Ubisoft video game from Steam and wrote negative reviews about them shutting the multiplayer servers down of their video games and to release their video games for sale on gog.com.

In my case, I'm begging them to let me re-buy their games for the 3rd or 4th time (yes , sad, I know).

As for creating their account, I just think taking it straight to their forums maximises the chances of them seeing this. I don't think they read forums or reviews on GOG or Steam. Maybe they'd read something like Twitter, but I have no experience or followers on it. I've been actively avoiding twitter all my life.

Outside of a hostile takeover, I don't see what could possibly nudge Ubisoft at this point. They have strayed further and further from any form of offline DRM-free gaming whatsoever and have repeatedly shown they don't care about many of the games in their portfolio once they stop generating revenue.

Well they are not off to a good 2023, maybe phrasing it so that releasing games on GOG can be a low risk quick profit turnaround for the. Games are already made and many have already had the online component disabled so a GOG release could generate revenue with little investment.

That's what I'm hoping. I do wish more people would be willing to post on the Ubi forum thread though as a show of support though, unless they really don't care about more Ubi releases here. (I'm of course skeptical it will do much but creating an account and posting shouldn't eat up too much time so I figure "can't hurt to try")

Ubisoft is such a terrible company now, I doubt they'll put anything on GOG anytime soon, they've been going in the complete opposite direction for years. Would be great to have their old actually good games preserved here tho bc dealing with Uplay even after they removed all the features and made it significantly more inconvenient to use is extremely annoying. Maybe one day.
The problem with the idea in the OP is that the Ubisoft employees who read and reply to forums for Ubisoft games are by no means the same Ubisoft employees who makes decisions as to whether or not to release more games on GOG.

So for the idea in the OP actually to become effective, then the message would have to get in front of the eyeballs of those decision makers at Ubisoft, which simply posting on their forum will not accomplish that.
Easy. Just wave with some bank notes...

Well sure, but short of moving to France and picketing in front of their office, there's no other way. If enough people post on the forums, some community workers may pass that on to their own managers.

Again, it's more likely to happen on their forums than here. So far, the community has helped my post stay on top of General Discussions on Ubisoft's forums. Maybe, just maybe, if it stays there for a whole week, someone at Ubisoft will pass that onto someone higher.
I went over and gave my support for this.
I doubt they will be releasing much, but I'm hoping that somehow some day Twinworld will appear on GOG.
Or even Steam for that matter, just make it available somewhere.

There's threads with tens of thousands of replies about various broken parts of Uplay, about achievement support on Steam among other things on their own and Steam forums and the don't care, they replied multiple times they don't give a fuck no matter what. Do not expect anything, Ubisoft is one of the most stubborn company out there.

No let them go as broke as possible so they can be picked up as cheaply as possible and someone can finally do something meaningful with it.
