Get ready for quite the tall (t)ale!

The Dwarves, a story-heavy RPG where our beloved race engages in real-time tactical carnage against hordes of assorted evildoers, is now available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

They are loud, short-tempered, and famously territorial. They have a real knack for mining, drinking, tending to their facial hair, and swinging an axe. They are 15 iron-clad warriors of unstoppable fury and they are under your command!

What they lack in height your vertically challenged champions make up in grit, and what you lack in numbers you will make up in tactical exploitation of the battlefield and the punishing laws of physics. Pause the action at will, issue orders to your stalwart lads and mow through hordes of stinkin' greenskins, evil magi, lousy undead, and other beasties that threaten to derail Tungdil Goldhand's epic quest through the land of Girdlegard. If your beard's twitching for more adventure, the world map is full of secrets, hidden treasure, and neat NPCs that are dying to share a pint and a story with you. Don't you let that beer grow warm, now!

Guide The Dwarves as they navigate a world full of magic, treachery, and cracked skulls, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Want to claim all the riches of this fantastic world? Upgrade to the Deluxe Edition and get access to the Soundtrack, the 104-page Artbook, and the incredibly detailed map of Girdlegard.
The 10% discount will last until December 8, 5:59 PM UTC.

ThomNG: Enjoy the release and playing that beautiful game :)
Thanks for the day one Linux release! I'm going to buy the game today.
The linux release made me buy that immidiately.

One question though, is the german language included in the installer or do I have to istall it separately somehow?
Does the game work with Mesa / radeonsi? I'm getting RX 480 in a few days, so would be good to know.

I haven't bought this yet, but if you want to be certain that you get the German version then after buying the game go to your library, select the game and choose "view downloads". Now on the right there should be tab right next to the OS tab that says what language the current version of the installer is in, click it and then select Deutsch. When you next download and install the game, you should get the German version.
story-heavy RPG=code for action adventure
It looks good but I'm not sure it's my kind of game. Also too pricey for my currently battered and beaten wallet. Will keep an eye on it tho.

But why does the elder dwarf keep several cloves of garlic in his beard? Is it an irrational fear of vampire attacks?

It's just white hair braided.

I know that option, I can't change it in case of this game though.

Edit: it's included.

I haven't heard anything about the game before and quite interested now, watching the trailer and seeing first positive impressions.

Also if anyone was wondering, here is the Kickstarter page for this game:

Then it'll probably be in the installer, in the options menu of the game or a configuration program in the installation folder, though I can only base that on previous GOG games I've played.

EDIT: That solves it then. :)

It's times like this that I miss tinyE. My silly post was nothing but a setup for an even sillier or an absurd reply. Oh well...

You change the language ingame and the German Voice Over is very good. One thing I found weird is the word "Items" when you trade...

Here is far better trailer/song for game, with The Band :) It is epic, GOG or developers should make deal with Blind Guardian to make more such songs, the sales would go up :)

Song by Bling Guardian is a treat. My all time favorite is their Nightfall in Middle Earth.

Do you plant to release the soundtrack in FLAC? The add-on here on GOG is mp3 only.
