Get ready for quite the tall (t)ale!

The Dwarves, a story-heavy RPG where our beloved race engages in real-time tactical carnage against hordes of assorted evildoers, is now available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

They are loud, short-tempered, and famously territorial. They have a real knack for mining, drinking, tending to their facial hair, and swinging an axe. They are 15 iron-clad warriors of unstoppable fury and they are under your command!

What they lack in height your vertically challenged champions make up in grit, and what you lack in numbers you will make up in tactical exploitation of the battlefield and the punishing laws of physics. Pause the action at will, issue orders to your stalwart lads and mow through hordes of stinkin' greenskins, evil magi, lousy undead, and other beasties that threaten to derail Tungdil Goldhand's epic quest through the land of Girdlegard. If your beard's twitching for more adventure, the world map is full of secrets, hidden treasure, and neat NPCs that are dying to share a pint and a story with you. Don't you let that beer grow warm, now!

Guide The Dwarves as they navigate a world full of magic, treachery, and cracked skulls, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Want to claim all the riches of this fantastic world? Upgrade to the Deluxe Edition and get access to the Soundtrack, the 104-page Artbook, and the incredibly detailed map of Girdlegard.
The 10% discount will last until December 8, 5:59 PM UTC.

shmerl: My all time favorite is their Nightfall in Middle Earth.
Good choice. It is one of their best albums, I like Nightfall, Mirror Mirror, Noldor, Time Stands Still... Whole album is awesome. I was once photo-reporter on their concert, I think I was half meter far from Hansi, they had special stickers for reporters. I still have mine :)

I recently discovered that they added another song to the album - Harvest of Sorrow (about Túrin).
Anyone know if Kickstarter backers get shafted like usual (standard edition no matter what) ?

EDIT: just got my GOG key via KING Art support (thanks Lars!). And it includes the Deluxe upgrade. I'm impressed, thankyou! :D

DWARFS!!!

DWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARVES!!!

'experience a fascinating tale revolving around the coolest fantasy race ever'

You're goddamn right.
When I click "Game Forum" on the shelf, it takes me to General Discussion instead of https://www.gog.com/forum/the_dwarves

Can you fix it please?

Now with less fortress.
Played it on medium for a while, gameplay is a bit moba-like with 3 chars for now, constantly looking where you stand and keeping those special attacks up to decimate the hordes, which is nicely balanced and lets the dwarves feel like the powerhouses they goddamn are :D
Game shines on the story (and voice acting) though which is presented like a choose your own adventure book (only that you still explore the whole events and if something bad happens you just load the game, heh heh :-)

xalegra: CHILDREN OF THE SMITH - The Dwarves Soundtrack - Performed by Blind Guardian. Here is far better trailer/song for game, with The Band :) It is epic, GOG or developers should make deal with Blind Guardian to make more such songs, the sales would go up :)
This is first time when I brought upgrade to deluxe edition, only for this epic piece of music.

joppo: But why does the elder dwarf keep several cloves of garlic in his beard? Is it an irrational fear of vampire attacks?

Whoa there, stumpy. I didn't mean to offend. Who's that, your father, your grandpa? Your... mother?
Any chance for making the Deluxe Edition upgrade available as a standalone purchase? I don't want to buy the game right now, but I'd like to buy the soundtrack via the Deluxe Edition bonus material.

May be they should release the soundtrack on Bandcamp? Try contacting developers about it. I'd also appreciate the FLAC version of it.
