Breja: I am so very sorry I answered someone's question and totally derailed your week old, entirely dead thread.
Please, go back to singing "glory songs" for DRMed platforms and online games.
Zimerius: and that is whole clue now ain't it....
i really don't know what to think about people who classify mmorpg's as being a threat to personal gaming rights
If you spent money on a game that specifically requires you to connect to a specific server that is owned by either the developer or publisher in order to play the game, you own absolutely nothing. People need to stop acting surprised and angry when the servers for their favorite DRMed game are shut down, denying them the ability to play.
Do a search for "games that are being shut down in 2024" and you will find that this includes:
* several Assassin's Creed games
* Heroes of Might and Magic 6
* Splinter Cell: Conviction
* Dragon Quest Tact
* The Day Before (which will be the game that was active for only 45 days)
* Armored Core: Verdict Day
* Dark Souls 2
* All Wii U and 3DS games
* the XBox 360 store is shutting down in that you won't be able to make new purchases
* GWENT isn't shutting down, but it's not receiving any new content, which suggests it doesn't have much of a future
That just the stuff with titles I recognized without going past the first page on search results.
