Every time bluethief's topics come up, I get a bit excited, then I open them and get disappointed. They're interesting posts, but not what I was expecting.

So instead of that, and since GOGMix feature no longer works (along with the search feature, check attachment), suggest/name some time travel games, and their quality! Any form of time travel (except +1 second/second) is acceptable.

Some I know of that are on gog:
- Time Commando - Janky but cool concept
- Prince of Persia Sands of Time - Integrated into the gameplay, but not as time-travelley as I'd like (and no, rubbish sequels don't count)
- Day of the Tentacle - Exactly what I want from my Time Travel adventure game[/url]
- Space Quest 4 - Had the potential to be as cool/cooler than DotT, but doesn't feature as much time travel stuff as it could
- more?

Soul Reaver 2 - In it, you explore different eras of Nosgoth. However, this game is very story heavy so playing the previous game is essential.

Not available on GOG, but Quantum Break is a game that deals with time travel and time manipulation powers, where you have got through time to try to stop and event called "End of Time".
The Sexy Brutale: the main mechanic of the game is travelling back in time to relive the same day and stop a a series of murders.
Original War - quite unique RTS, plot heavily inspired by the novel written by Wolfgang Jeschke (The Last Day of Creation).
Freedom Force vs the Third Reich - thte title says it all. ALso, the best non-Batman superhero game ever.

Star Trek Armada is all about time travel. Sort of. It's introduced early on, then sort of not mentioned for three campaigns, and then the resolution of the whole story revolves around it. It's a very good game, especially for Trek fans, though probably a bit too easy for experienced hardcore RTS players.

It's not on GOG, but it is DRM-free on [edit] some other mysterious store that kinda sounds like "grumble mumble" - Kelvin and the Infamous Machine is a fantastic and hilarious point & click. One of the most fun I played. Great writing and good puzzles.

Thank you for the information Breja, but GOG has rather strict policies against linking to other stores.

Please remove the link so your post isn't deleted or other sanctions get applied to this thread.

Update: Thanks for the edit. I wish we didn't have to self-police, but the mods have been trigger happy in the past.

Right, sorry. I forgot we're supposed to all pretend there are no other stores out there, like we're the Nomes in Terry Pratchett's Truckers.

I swear, this is the silliest rule I've ever seen on any forum.

A New Beginning: Final Cut involves travelling back in time to stop catastrophic climate change.

The infamous Mystery of the Druids involves a trip to the past. Officially in the "so bad its good" category, it has a higher rating than Cyberpunk 2077.

And has no DRM-ed rewards!

GogMixes may be gone but that doesn't mean I can't go "Back in Time" to go retrieve them.

I present to you the Time Travel Gog Mix from the past!

edit: don't click the link because it will remove the web archive link and try to use the gog link. To get around this, copy the entire link and past it into your browser and it should work.

Timespinner is a metroidvania, in the siyle of the igavanias, that has time travel. Specifically, for most of the game, there are two eras that you can time travel between, and they serve the function that separate castles serve in some metroidvania games.

(As a bonus, Timespinner has a lot of queer characters, which becomes particularly apparent if you do the side quests.)
Quantum Break has a pretty good story and ok gameplay.
Deponia Doomsday - it's all about both time and inter-dimensional travels. Good stuff but knowledge of previous games in the series is required.

Special mention: one of the best episodes in Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark, called Ghosts of Christmas Passed, features visiting the same place through various era's from prehistoric to modern times and affecting it with "butterfly effect". It's one episode (1-2h long) but very cool.
