I've also bookmarked this and intend to give it a whirl.
The response to Traum has been overwhelmingly positive and I'm really happy about that. I was very nervous about my writing and if it were good enough. To see people enjoy it, it's one of the best feelings I've ever had!
I will definitely be checking this game out, as well. Thanks for sharing with us! <3

Thanks! Let us know what you thought of it?
Traum also has a brand new trailer!

I just finished the game and here is what I think about it:

1) The technical side:.
I still found two bugs in displaying the text (see attachement - WARNING SPOILER INSIDE) and vsync does not work (maybe because it's just borderless window and not real fullscreen). Other then that I have nothing to complain at all.

2) The gaming side:
Not that much real "gameplay" to it but after the demo I did not expect it otherwise. Still some minor minigames have been included to let the game feel less like a visual novel. It's also a bit obvious that your choices will mostly (if not always) lead to the same outcome but I have no problems with the illusion of choice as well.

3) Story/Atmosphere
This is where the real strength of this short (around 2 hours) game lies for me. The constant changing between now and then makes an interesting form of narration. The change between drama, horror and mystery let the gamer keep thinking what really happened. The characters feel real and the F/X and sound effects are fitting. To be honest, I was not that surprised about the ending and was hoping for more but going on this rollercoaster ride with the main character was actually kind of fun. The story is not really new and I could name a few movies this whole story reminded me of - but alone the fact that I recognize such movies in the game is a good sign. I won't name them here to not spoil any of the game.

Thank you all for this game. I really enjoyed it and you can congratulate yourself and your team in delivering something that definitely is more than the average hobby game.

Thanks for trying the game out and letting us know what you thought of it! And thanks for the bug report, those should be fixed soon :)
As Traum is getting its steam release soon, this will be my last post about it :D

Thank you all for trying it out and giving valuable feedback! Like said before, this was my first foray in writing and really hope it won't be the last. Any case, thank you all for reading the thread, trying the game out and, hopefully, having fun playing it!

It's going to be free on steam and that's the reason we didn't try to get it on GOG. I don't think GOG gets free games on their store.

Ah, yes - that makes sense. So in that case I wish you many positive reviews!
GOG has several free games, as well as free demos and DLCs.
Games like Beneath A Steel Sky, Teenagent, Flight Of The Amazon Queen, Cayne, and more.

I urge you again to try and get your game here on GOG. It would be wonderful to see the game here!
What have you got to lose?
Besides, many people who don't like the DRM aspect of steam, will not play it through steam.

Is the plot basically just about a hetero relationship, with minor horror elements thrown in?

Ah yes, completely forgot about these. And I agree that it's worth a try if it does not cost anything.

All the mentioned games are older classics. I don't think I have seen one newer game that is intentionally offered as a free game in here. I don't think GOG likes the idea to offer their serverspace for free. Thanks for the encouraging words, though! They mean a lot.

It's a real shame that RPG Maker has that certain stigma. I know there's a lot of games that are considered poor and perhaps even shovelware, but among them there are real gems.

With Traum we tried to be different. Traum isn't your typical RPG Maker horror with multiple jumpscares and over the top gore. Sudden deaths or anything like that. Nor it's a fantasy game with generic battle system. Traum is a story that touches real-life issues. This could happen to anyone. How would you cope? The main character isn't a war veteran with burdens from the war. He hasn't been abused as a child or lost his parents. He's just your regular guy who wants to start a family and provide for them. I'd like to think we did a good job portraying that.

I hope that we can, even just a bit, make RPG Maker games lose some of their stained status :)
