Arabian Nights is a great game and you should play it; it even got featured in Awesome Games Done Quick!

Ultima 5 (NES) is a good game, and you should play it!

(The reality is as follows:
* Arabian Nights did appear in AGDQ, but it appeared in the *Awful* Games Done Quick block.
* The NES version of Ultima 5 is horrible and has numerous major issues, to the point where I wonder how it got past Nintendo's QA. Ultima 4 on the NES was great (albeit different from the PC version), but that's not the case with Ultima 5. If you remove the "(NES)" from the statement, however, you have a statement that is likely true for many players.)

2nd bit: Agreed somewhat.....the client isn't the DRM, imo, but many of the games on it are protected by various DRM.

1st bit: There are actually a somewhat decent number of games that one can play outside steam...either by copying some files to a source port/etc or just clicking the exe in the game folder.
