Jack introduces himself to the newcomer.

"Hail and well met, the name's Jack. Your pockets are light and you're looking a bit worse for wear but nothing serious. Glad to have you. It's always a good thing to have another ally." Jack shakes Lucas' hand.

"As for the best route, I say we risk the pass. I could always go forward to scout out a relatively safe route through the wilderness. I am not sure of this, but perhaps some friends of mine from the Nog tribe might be hunting or gathering in the groves. Perhaps they can help."

Jack mused to himself: and I smell opportunities that involve my pockets and valuable things filling said pockets. They are rather light today...

OOC: Interesting: 2 for the fastest route, 2 for the safest route. So as to avoid a tie, the next vote shall take it. No pressure... lol!
Zaranak examines the bodies of the fallen quenhali before standing to join the conversation.
"South, through the pass." he says fast "The ferry will not be cheap."

Though there was some disagreement, the party eventually decided to try their luck passing through the Blood Peaks.

The roads south were in poor shape, and they slowed their travel time considerably. Nevertheless, at least the path was safe. Having endured the hardships of war just the day before, no one was looking for a pointless fight.

As night fell on the first day of their journey, the party arrived in Skip, a wooded Nog Village on the River of Eternity, on the outskirts of the Shamanic Groves.

Years ago, Jack the Knife had befriended a powerful leader of this diminutive, peaceful race of forest dwellers with a series of kind deeds. Though Jack never visited this village personally, his name is known and respected here. With his knowledge of their language and culture, the party is likely to find a safe place to rest and dine before continuing their journey.

However, the Nog have different sleeping patterns than other races. They typically begin to rest a few hours before sunset and do not wake until the moon is fully risen in the sky. Furthermore, the Nog simply adore sleeping, so one should be wary of waking them lest they become grumpy.

It will be 3 more hours before the Nog begin to awake. Stepping foot inside the town while they are asleep is likely to disturb them, and they may not offer you a place to rest.

But sleeping --- or even waiting in the wilderness near the Grove is risky as well. Many wild beasts dwell here.

What does the party choose to do?

1. Enter the village now and request a safe place to spend the night
2. Wait for 3 hours until the Nog awake and then enter the village
3. Search the area outside the village for a safe place to pass the night

OOC: 2 votes for any choice will take it.

"We need a place to pass the night." He looks to the area outside the village "Shall we hunt for a place?" The Vasar would ask, his dark green eyes hunting over the landscape as blue bits of mana fell from his fingers.
Leh Dzebo

"I don't trust these forest folk" Leh murmured and turned to others: "I say we camp out near the village."
OOC: That's 2 votes, so here we go.

The party has located a cave outside the village. It's damp, uncomfortable and doesn't smell all that good, but it does appear to be safe.

All characters must make an individual decision:

1. Will you Sleep? If so, you will lose your initiative in the first round if you're attacked.

2. Will you Stand Guard? If so, you will lose 10HP due to fatigue.

(OOC: I'll start posting HP totals so we can keep track.)

"I have issues sleeping." Zaranak says calmly as they ready for the night. "I'll stand guard."
"Eh, I'll stand guard," Lucas commented before streching.
"I'm beat. I think I'll call it a night..." Jack yawned.
OOC: why can't we rotate guard duty, if we want to can we use our abilities now?

pazzer: OOC: why can't we rotate guard duty,
OOC: you can, but there's only 3 hours until you can enter the village and find a more comfortable place to rest, so I figured you would prefer to only get a few hours of sleep there and spend the remainder of the time in the village. :)

if we want to can we use our abilities now?
You can use them any time you like!

Yeah, so either way you should all be rested up to full HP after this is over, but we'll see...

Apologies that it wasn't clear.
