I used to believe that the first Secret Files was boring. Then I played Secret Files 2.
I used to think that if Blizzard did a sequel to Diablo 2, it would be the best game ever. I just wish they didn't do it now...

I would like SimCity 2000 if I win..
Count me in! Thanks and +1 for your generosity, Austrobogulator!

Also, a little promotion in the Giveaways' Directory:

I used to believe that gaming for 5-6 hours in a row was a thing from the past.... 'Faster than Light' proves me wrong. ;)

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers would be great. :)

I used to believe that I would only play PlayStation games.
I used to believe that I would not read (in order) fiction, comics, or manga.
I used to believe that commercial games were better than indie games.
I used to believe that Super Mario Land was the first Super Mario Bros game, as it was in black and white (I had only seen screenshots/gameplay, and not the Game Boy).

Wrong on all counts, and proud of being wrong (especially the third).
I passed years expecting Spore, thinking it would be the game of the century. Then, I played it.
I'm never wrong. Also there's no giveaway condition on GOG that's impossible for me. That's what I thought. Then this giveaway came along, and I realised that if I'm always right I can't enter the giveaway, which means I'm wrong, which means that I can enter the giveaway. Which means that I was right about that. Then my mind started to heat up until it exploded. So I can't enter.

But that's the very definition of cognitive dissonance !!

I thought I'd never find myself in a position where I'd think that my fullfilling of the requirements of a giveaway would be 'too little and/or underwhelming'. Now I know better.

You are right, of course. It's just that people don't like to be in this state. There are different ways of handling it. One way is to have your brain explode. This solves most life problems. Also prevents the need of zombies to dig into your skull, so it's zombie environmentally friendly.
I used to think that I would never use digital distribution to acquire games because I thought all the digital distribution services had tough DRM systems. Then, I discovered GOG, and am glad that I was wrong (on both counts).

In for Syndicate.

When the first Pokemon games came out here in Germany I started to hate the games. Only because the box make it look like a sort of Tamagotchi, and I really got burned by this a few years before that. It took me 10 years until I actually tried a game and I really like them, bought 1 of every main series game since Platinum.
So I was wrong for really hating Pokemon for 10 years when I pobably would have actually liked them. Can't be too sure about this because I did not know anybody who played the games and was the wrong age at the time.
I used to think that each person had a specific number of heart beats until they died, and that this determined their lifespan.

Then one time a buddy said, "So exercising kills you way faster?"

It was then I knew...I was WRONG

Oh the shame! Don't look at me

I used to believe I'd not spend much money on digital download games, heck I was totally wrong!
About an hour left.
