Delixe: When a reboot is done well it can be good. Some characters really don't need it though. Diana doesn't age as far as I know so her origin story can remain the same as it always was just with some minor changes. Similarly the Super Soldier serum makes Steve Rogers age much slower like Wolverine and I think his origin story in the upcoming film is going to be pretty similar to what it's always been. Superman is a character I get rather tired at because they constantly try to update him and his history. Even after Crysis they kept re-telling and there was even Smallville (which I admit I enjoyed). It's one of the reasons I prefer Captain Marvel to Superman because no matter how much they try to convolute his story it's still Billy Batson.
If any character needed a total rewrite it is Superman. It's the only way the character is in any way tolerable*. Superman was a product of his time. Insomuch as everyone was that much more of a cunt back then.

*Albeit not so much to me as his only weakness is the fact that everyone and their grandmother has some kryptonite.
The pants need to be shorter.
I hope this isn't too old to bump up like this, but apparently they've tweaked the costume a bit. I have to say, I think it looks a lot better.
Comparison pic here
Still looks horrible. I especially hate her 'angry' face. Bad casting.

Yeah, the angry face makes her look like a sour puss. All they did to the costume was make the boots red and put stars up the side of the pants, it still looks pretty bad.

The costume may also be less busty, but it's hard to tell for sure.

The last costume was almost pushing them up around her ears. Here is a thought: Cast a woman who is naturally big both in bust size and general size. Wonder Woman is an Amazon she has big muscles. The reason Lynda Carter was perfect is she wasn't skinny. She had a naturally big bust and hips. This new girl is classic Hollywood. So thin you can break her with a push up bra.

I'm guessing the naughty bits are heavily taped-down for action scenes, lest we get a nip-slip.

I apologize, I have no idea what this site is, I'm just linking their pic:

Look at her arms, she is definitely busty but she was skinny as a rail too for much of the series.

Yeah.. you kinda proved my point. In the 70's they hired someone who almost looked like her. In 2010 we don't care and anyone can be Wonder Woman.
id still hit that.

I'd pick Diora Baird...
Hey, Wonder Woman! FUCK YOU!

Superman has had multiple rewrites; each time his powers get reset back to a more sensible level, but as the run goes on the writers want to put him in increasingly epic situations by throwing bigger and bigger villains at him (especially if they want the series climax to involve saving all of reality or whatever) so end up sequentially bumping his powers right back up to ludicrous levels (including "breathing" in space by holding his breath indefinitely).

Superman getting increasingly powerful is inevitable because he's a star player, and at this point it's unlikely that they would change his power set to give him additional weaknesses. Superman is also weak against magic, but the problem is that this doesn't come up much because he doesn't have any well-known magical foes (even Batman has a wizard or two). More often than not they end up putting him up against Captain Marvel for this purpose, but since both are heroes they can't have them fight each other on a regular basis without it becoming ridiculous. His general power creep can also lead to him developing some level of resistance to magic (and sometimes kryptonite as well) which further reduces the effectiveness of magic-based foes.

The stars were already there in the original shiny costume and I'm pretty sure the woman in the new pic is not Adrianne Palicki, but rather a stunt woman/stand-in. Given that, it's entirely possible that we are actually seeing a "stunt costume" in the new pic, not the "hero costume" that we would see in close-ups and such. That could mean that the actual costume is not going to be all that different, other than the obvious boot change.
