tinyE: I don't want to get into a fight here but how is it that at some point censorship threads always turn into America bashing? This country is screwed up no doubt, I know...I live here...but I always get the vibe that everyone else would be happy if the entire country just sank into the ocean. I'm not saying that this would be a bad thing but I'm beginning to wonder if anyone anywhere likes any of us at all.
Germany often gets blamed as well :P Ever seen their Carmagedon version? *shudders*
Mivas: Hmm, maybe Seduce Me has male nudity? That's something what freaks out even a majority of Europe (absurdly, again).
I think it depends a bit on where in Europe you are, but yea, a lot of people are still so insecure about their sexuality that they feel offended by attractive nude men.
Piranjade: Strange. I saw the title of this topic and immediately thought: Dang! GOG refused to release "Biing!"
Was that game not a Germany exclusive? I've heard about it, but yea, it sounds like one of those games that won't get re-released on any digital distribution platform.
Come to think of it, I wonder how GOG or Valve would handle a game like Larry 7. While hardly hardcore pornography, it still shows quite a bit.
Aaron86: Can you define what you mean by "deviancy"? Most of the time when I see the word used it's as a really vague term for pseudo-moralizations.
StingingVelvet: Deviancy means against social norms.
Since when has peoples sexuality not been "deviant"? People always seem to be fascinated in doing the slightly forbidden and "dirty".
Ian: *I do have 1 exception - correct me if i am wrong, but a few years ago, there was a game about rape - i cannot understand any justification for that in a game.
johnki: Yep. Rapelay. Some odd Japanese game. I mean, I know Japan is really culturally open to sex, but I think it even took it too far for Japan as a whole.
And over here in Sweden some journalist found out about it, reported about how the new wave of sex games was corrupting our males who would want to go out and rape people after playing it/males are only interested in rape.
Then it turned out that the game was both relatively old and not released here. Her response when she got told about this was "It is not my job to fact check".
Antimateria: Quite many pull out the name Saints row 3. Has anyone even played the game? There was almost none sexual content, no tits without nude patch. And waving a dildo in your face.. Well you didn't really have to do that all the time. =)
No sex at all. It just was fun and greatly made game.
It is filled with sexual innuendo though. There is so much about the game that is about sex in one way or another, without actually showing anything.
