Look on the bright side, you have more time to play GOGs :-)
Valentines day here in Brazil is only in june, so its still far away (and i have time to get a gf before that, lol, actually, i hope i dont, i hate buying gifts for girls). But yeah, i get the same feeling, i dont want to be single, no need to remind me about that for the entire month. Dont get me wrong, i used to love being single and have that "freedom" feeling. But now i got tired of it.
Luckily, February is the shortest month of the year. ;)
It's been two years with Girlfriend. I know that's not much of an achievement to most people (to me it's nothing short of a miracle) and that I will probably end up bitching my heart off to pointless internet discussion boards when the time comes for either of us to ditch the other, but it's been nice so far. Not that I care much about Valentine's Day. In fact, neither of us gives much of a damn. We're happy enough without a special day to remind us of each others' existence, thank you very much.

While I'm drunk and on a roll, here's a song for those who used to be single, who are single and who will become single one day; if you're not single and will never become such, good for you. Because no one ever click anonymous YouTube links, I'll just say that it's Ghost of a Chance by Rush and that it's awesome. Cheers.
Just remember: having no girlfriend is far superior to having a bad girlfriend. Don't let yourself get desperate; it will only lead to eternal horror!

Also, if it's any consolation, Valentine's is just as bad for single girls as it is for single guys. If not worse.

She cares about Valentines day... she does, all women do. Now follow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ] link[/link]
Having been happily single for quite a few years I tend to barely even notice Valentine's day anymore (aside from the increase in red and pink products at the grocery store).
Love Valentine's Day because I get to remind my wife about how much I do for her on every other occassion during the year, and after 5 years, she no longer really cares about it and likes that we don't do anything because of how much of a sham it is.
There's still time to make a special Valentine's Day friend.

Gremmi: The possessive adjective in the title does my head in.

"Your single and you suck!"

"That may be the case for me, sir, but you leave my single alone!"
I assume he must mean that the shoegaze band February has released a new single, and that both the single and the band sucks.
Wow, my knowledge of English seems to be better than I thought... :o

As for topic, I fully agree with Thunderstone.

Also, if you need Valentine's day to show some love then you suck!
Being alone is goddamn awesome.

Farts and jubilations whenever you want, you're responsible to no one and your feeling of adequacy is not measured by the amount of flowers you are able to buy for your sweetheart, only by the amount of faps you can accomplish during the course of a single day.

And let's not forget this: There's always horny single mothers to be found in bars... Just saying.
Here in Finland Valentine's day is connected more to frienship, not romantic love.

..Which sucks for me, because it's a reminder that I don't have any friends! :-( I'm married, so the romantic part of it wouldn't bother me as much.
