Well.. im glad that gog is experimenting with this type of promotions. Maybe we will see big bundles at fair prices.

And the price of Beyond is slowly decreasing (maybe by some 0.01$ Divinitys). For this promotion it will be nonsense if the first two are not available at less than 5.99$... Divinity 2 has lost sense now with a price that surpasses the normal price of that game on any other market...

Lexor: Still the same "weird thing" as before - try to enter $18.00 (its above $17.99) and DII logo goes gray.
avatar
Ubivis: Maybe it is just my browser (latest Chrome), but I have some seconds after changing the price to 18.00 and during this time I can press the buy button and have the game in my cart at 18.00. EDIT: Okay, just changes to (pay above $18). So does not work anymore ;)
Now it does not work with $18.01 :D Just wait a few seconds and DII logo goes gray again...

Your waiting is the problem, works for me :)

our order details
$18.01
DIVINITY 2: DEVELOPER'S CUT
FREE
BEYOND DIVINITY
FREE
DIVINE DIVINITY
LARIAN BUNDLEYOU SAVED:$13.96
I suggest that everyone should buy at least 10 or more Divine Divinity copies. Each for a few cents. It'll help to lower the average price of the bundle and therefore more people might buy it. Basically, if you want to pay less than the current average go and buy 100x Divine Divinity for 0,01$ xD. It'll require some hard work but eventually it'll be worth it.

Maybe it is only waiting, but it is misleading.
What a weird promo from a money saving standpoint:

1. Divine Divinity for $0.01 -> This is actually interesting

2. Divine Divinity + Beyond Divinity for $11.92 -> Pointless, already almost the regular price of both games ($11.98); you're better off buying DD for $0.01 and then BD for $5.99

3. All three games for $18 -> Also interesting because Divinity II: DC is $19.99 (but pointless if you already own DD and BD, you only get the gift and $1 discount)

pyrrhicvictor: This doesn't really seem like much of a deal at all, GOG. I've always shopped with you because your deals are straightforward. This seems like trying to trick people into spending more than they otherwise would for what are ultimately rather inconsequential benefits. I'm hoping this is just a weird experiment rather than something you intend to repeat. Also, I've already got Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity. There's really nothing to this deal for people like me.
Yeah, a normal promo would give 50% or 60% off each game, which would benefit me a LOT more. And after being $5 like a 100 times Divinity 2 is not worth $20, "director's cut" or not.

keeveek: You know, that's the point of bundles. You shouldn't buy a bundle for only one game from it.
People often do just that, though. That's how people end up with 8 copies of Torchlight, because the bundles were good enough deals that it was worth buying them even if you only wanted 1-2 games from them. One reason the HIB does so well is because it's usually worth beating the average just for a single game.

keeveek: By the way, the prices are already going down.
Only the BD average. The Div2 average is still going up.
1, Is this a GOG exclusive offer ?
2, I already own the first two games from the bundle . Will i receive another copy of both ?
3, How many cheapskate paid $0.10 for the bundle ?

And such suggestion only proves that promo design is just wrong. Promo should encourage people to pay more by itself, not to pay less... sigh.
I don't get it, is this some kinda social experiment? Or a way to discover and poke fun of the stingiest person on GOG? That being said, Sven Finke's (is that how you spell it?) blog is probably the most honest and incitement one of it's kind on the internet, it kinda opened my eyes a bit to how money and indie development works in the game industry. I read that Larian plan to release Dragon Commander and Original Sin so they can pool enough money to begin work on a planned "Super Mega RPG" in the future.

Divine Divinity is a classic, Beyond Divinity is simply not worth it.

gyokzoli: I didn't get gift code for Divine Divinity although I got a gift email about this game (without any codes).

Kunovski: look into "My Games" and "Gift"
Ahh, thanks!

you will receive gift codes for the games you already own

1. Seems so.
2. Yes, see FAQ:
I own some of the games. What happens when I make an order? Sure! If you own some of the games, the extra copies will be sent to you in a gift code you can give to anyone you like.
3. Probably as many as these begging for a free game in a certain forum thread for no reason.
