We've already decorated our tree. We've started the sale. But seems like we're forgetting something.

Oh! That's right! It's not the holidays without a chance to visit GOG.com, looking for new and interesting ways that Coala has photo-chopped wintery iconography into them. It's a tradition that we're continuing for our fourth year!

The contest is simple: go through our catalog; we've edited 12 images, scattered across our wide selection of games, to include obvious holiday references, such as santa hats, Christmas trees, or reindeer. For an example, take a look at one of our screenshots from last year:

When you’ve got them all, list them all in an email to "contest@gog.com" with the subject line being "GOG.com 2012 Scavenger Screenshot Hunt". From every valid application we will pick 10 winners who got all the games right and gift them two games from the entire catalog. The contest ends on Tuesday December 25th 2012 11:59 GMT.

Or, I suppose, on the 21st of December when the world erupts in fire and doom. But if we're still around after that, then we'll end the contest officially on the 24th. ;)

triock: Aaargh, this is killing me, checked all games 3 times and got only 11. It's not fair. :(

Rodzaju: Buy me Startopia & I'll give you the answers.......
So you're into bribery, right? Not in a million years! :P

I'm sure you will feel differently by 4am when you're still staring at those screenshots, vaguely wondering how you're going to be able to tear yourself away to get to work.......

We'll see.
OK. Found #12 on my 2nd pass.
Thanks for the contest!

Are we supposed to receive any confirmation email?
Took me a few hours, but I managed to find all 12.
Hey people! Don't give up! If my math is not wrong, there are only 5916 game screenshots.
Found them all on my first run! Will send an email tomorrow. This year they are all really obvious. I guess that is fair, taking into consideration that there are many more games in the catalogue than in the years before.

andyjt: ...I mean my wishlist has grown just looking through the catalog so I guess that's the main idea!
Hehe, yup - that may be the main idea. That happens to me all the time they do this ;-)

Btw: I miss the "Guess these games"-contests... :-)
Found 11 on my first search, didn't find the 12th on my second run-through and then I quit in the middle of the third one. I think I'd rather just work.
Big waste of time. Couldn't think of anything more dreary and annoying. :/ Why now some quiz or something? If i could have worked the time i've spend looking i could have bought many games.

Edit:
I thought it may be obvious from my post, but i figured them out by myself already, stop sending me stuff.

Found 'em all - took quite a bit of time.

In 2010 it went on for five days with five sets of screenshots for a total of 25 - wonder why they haven't done that format again.
I may do this later while listening to some Christmas music. Not that I expect to win anything, but this could be fun nonetheless.
I just found them all in 2 hours. It was exhausted, but I was pleased I found them all.

Good luck, people, the ones who didn't find them all.
Oh no, not this contest again! I am going to have to kiss my free time goodbye! :)
Woo! Found all 12! Glad you made them stand out enough to ease the pain of sorting through thousands of screenshots. I was thrown off a bit by a few games that had screenshots indicating holiday references but in fact were part of the actual games. When I got done and counted the most obvious ones a process of elimination sorted that out nicely.
I am missing 1, anyone willing to help me out?
