If I'd known GOG's Christmas sale was going to be this generous I think I would have begged off from buying anything this year (hell, maybe the year before that too), considering most of what I bought were digital "re-buys" of games I bought on physical media years ago (CD & DVD-discs). I'm seeing many games I plunked down for that I thought would *never* go on sale. I'm feeling a bit peeved about buying Stronghold: Crusader on Dotemu a month ago, just before it went on sale no less than *three* times here on GOG!
So, in goes SMAC, even if it is the neutered version. It is the best-designed game of all-time, in my opinion, and my favorite strategy entrant.
In goes Wing Commander 1/2/3, to assuage my guilt of playing the superior (and exorbitantly priced out-of-print) Kilrathi Saga version. Actually the extra goodies of GOG's WC3 I think are very much worth the entry fee.
In goes Blood, because, well... I guess I enjoyed wasting time on the shareware version of it back in 1997 as a teenager. I'm not a FPS player very often, but playing Blood basically taught me how to play and survive those games, nothing difficulty-wise that was made after it has come close really.
There more titles I guess I could buy...always been curious about Caesar 3, but....meh. Besides, I have a fortnight to change my mind about any more "impulse" buys. Good job, GOG. An apt sale for belt-tightening times.
