Just recently I started posting in the forums and was wondering how exactly you raise your rep. I know that one of the ways to do this is to post in the forums but are there any other means to raise it? Sorry if it is a common or even simple question but I'm curious. Feel free to move this post to wherever you deem appropriate. Thanks!

1 rep for day, or it will raise if other users give you a +1 with the button when you create a post (they can also give you a -1, and it will get lower).

You can also increase your rep by answering queries and if your solution get marked as the answer then you get +5 rep. Otherwise just contributing to the forum will gradually raise your rep. :)

You can 1 rep for posting each day.

You can get up to 5 rep per day by people liking your posts and giving it many +1's

You get +5 rep by getting an answer marked as correct in a question thread.

1. Post often (and avoid personal attacks).

2. Get uprepped by other users because they like what you post.

3. Do NOT talk about your rep. And don't start threads complaining about it, that's a common way to lose rep. Really, the best way to raise your rep is to stop caring about it.

Whatever you do don't ask for anything in the gifting threads. :D

+ Posting a lot, if you are into that kind of thing.
+ Answering questions (if the asker remembers you to mark as "best response").
+ Giving away games (rep will increase more if you do a giveaway rather than posting the keys in the ninja thread, as I usually do).

I suppose you can sum all into being nice and helpful.

Just get your rep up to 15 (I think) so you can post links to pornsites, everything above it is totally meaningless whatsoever.

The +1 rep per day for posting could use a tweak, though. It doesn't reward active forum members who post frequently. It should be +1 for the first post, and then additional +1 rep every five posts within that day (up to +5 rep max.).

Giveaways are a way of buying rep.

If you want to decrease your rep, ninja one of the games. We've got few ninja haters as well.

Seriously, I lost like 20 rep in a week in that way.

Hosting a giveaway doesn't hurt, unless it's a really sucky one. :)

Not sure if you get rep for votes on a GOGmix you create. And for some reason I thought you only got up to +3 per day for other peoples' +1 of you. But then I have brain issues.

That's a bit cynical, no? Speaking for myself, I give away games for reasons more substantial than watching an arbitrary counter rise. :)

Now how did you get back to 440 rep?

As tinyE and many others show, if you do ever fall under a rep attack if you just stick with the community then the bullies will leave you alone.
