It's generally easier for the developers to patch PC versions, because they don't face as strenuous of approval processes. Look at say Dungeon Defenders. It's generally a few weeks, if not a month, behind content/ patch wise on consoles.

I've bought it on the PC but didn't have time to try it yet.

The way I see it, a game is ALWAYS better on the PC. Whether its control has been altered or adjusted to PCs is, of course, an entirely different matter.
However, if a game is better controlled with a gamepad then I do just that, use my XBox 360 gamepad.

There are other advantages as well - some which most of you would not understand, I guess - like being able to use cheats on the PC or community mods/patches and so on.

PC all the way!
Can anyone who bought the game confirm that you only have 2 choices Steam or Origin?

I know gamersgate sells it but it says 'Other DRM' which i assume is Origin?

AFAIK there's no OR and even Steam version registers in Origin.

It is quite cheap on russian Steam (about $30, £19). I don't think that Origin has any regional restrictions so I might be getting it.

Origin does have regional restrictions. In fact, because the game is rated 18 here in Germany, people buying it off Origin are only allowed to buy it in the middle of the night. The retail version requires Origin as well, and after my debacle of an experience with Dragon Age 2 and Crysis 2, I'm leaving that shitstack well alone.

Fuck it - I'm getting it for PS3, inferior graphics there or n'er.

I picked it up on PS3 because for a few minutes I remembered how much time I spent playing Skyrim on my computer chair, and I play a lot of starcraft so using the sofa for a casual game will give me a break.

That is the most bizarre regional quirk I've ever heard of.

That sucks. Im still going to wait to see what kind of mod support the game has before I make my decision. Im not going to get the game right off the bat, so I can wait and see how things turn out first.

godspeeed: Ok so we can both agree that the controls are designed for a game controller..
Nothing wrong with that. Plug in game controller, enjoy.

Ain't it just? The laugh of is that the law they're quoting there doesn't even apply to video games. It applies to television and video broadcasts. The BPjM explicitly states that in the absence of an age rating by the German television age rating authority, the FSK rating is to be used.

We can buy 18-rated games off Steam, Gamersgate and GOG anyway without any problems.

I was going to say the same thing. I think all PC gamers should have a gamepad in their arsenal.

This is a popular choice.

Indeed. I was using a gamepad on the PC before I used a mouse.

On the topic of gamepads, I just started using KontrolFreek CQC analog stick extensions. It improves accuracy at the cost of requiring you to move your thumbs farther. I find Im quite taken with them. The CQC version is the shortest one. I didn't want to make the sticks too long, but now that I have used them a bit I think I may get a pair of the longer ones as well. I hear KontrolFreeks can be troublesome to find outside of North America though, so If you live in Europe it may not be worth the price of importing.

The Xbox 360 controller is the most ergonomic gamepad I know but its D-Pad is crap. I'd recommend the [url=http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000110-Gamepad-F310/dp/B003VAHYQY]Logitech F310 instead. While it's not as ergonomic it beats the Xbox 360 controller in compatibility with old games because it lets you switch from XInput mode to DirectInput mode easily.

Personally I prefer this one it looks like an X-Box one but it has a "usable" D-Pad unlike the "let's press any random direction" D-Pad of the official X-Box controller.
