Never mind. I did some research on these, and apparently there are some major quality issues with the analog sticks. After a few months they start to drift. This seems to be a rather common issue, so I wont be getting one after all.

On the PC version... yes... something is wrong with that.
Oh Lord... so I guess the PC has finally devolved into nothing more than a console with the capability of superior graphics.

I played the demo on PC PS3 and 360.

I have the PC version with a 360 controller.

The camera is much improved but still a bit annoying.

One thing I find weird is lockpicking, it seemed more responsive on the console controllers as opposed to on PC with a 360 controller and of the console controllers I found the PS3's controller most responsive/accurate for lockpicking.

I think the game is quite good personally, but the person that designed the "Dispel" mini game should be kicked in the nuts.... ALOT!

But all in all, I would give it an 8/10, its a very enjoyable RPG (I prefer it to Skyrim, but thats just me).

That's an unnecessarily dubious statement. PC gaming has always been all-inclusive as far as peripherals are concerned. Would you play Microsoft Flight Simulator with the keyboard + mouse, or would the experience be better served with a Saitek joystick in hand? Would iRacing feel okay with just the keyboard, or would that crowd prefer a nice Logitech wheel and pedals combo? Even the humble Super Meat Boy, which features a better selling and more robust PC version, implores you to use a gamepad at start-up.

Your usage of "devolved" just reeks of elitist attitude. PC gaming is about choice and variety, and the ability to focus on either KB+M or gamepad (two wildly different input methods) is a locus of that ideology.

It is the open and most versatile platform, as it always was. Part of that versatility is being able to use a gamepad when desired or appropriate. Why would you ever want to play a game like Assassin's Creed with a mouse? Makes no sense.

It amuses me when guys like you try to defend the PC by limiting it to one role you have for it.

It works fine with a mouse.
The control method anyone uses just comes down to what would technically work with the game, and which they would prefer.

I tried playing Ratchet & Clank on my computer with mouse and keyboard once - I found it just as playable with the mouse and keyboard as it was with the controller.

It works fine with a mouse, it works much better with a gamepad. The point is the PC allows you the choice and ability to play all kinds of games with all kinds of inputs while consoles only allow approved methods. We should celebrate this diversity instead of saying "mouse or it's not PC."

To add my 2 cents: As a purely PC gamer I occasionally feel handicapped by the poor mouse and keyboard controls of games that were originally developed for a console, but I am not against people being able to use a gamepad with a computer, as EC- said, being able to use a joystick or a steering wheel thing is important for some games. I just would prefer games that are on PC to have more options in their control, so that they work equally well with a gamepad or with a mouse and keyboard.

Because I am only a PC gamer my hands have never developed the dexterity to use a gamepad (any kind) with ease. I learned to use a PS2 one once upon a time, but I have probably forgotten at this point. But I think it is dangerous to think that it is ok for PC games to only cater to a gamepad-using audience if they are ported (because it is how they are "meant" to be played) because someone like me will get very frustrated with the mouse and keyboard controls, and I am not going to buy a gamepad.

On the original topic: I felt the mouse and keyboard worked fine in the demo. Some camera issues, but overall I thought the controls were well done.

I've seen people play Divinity Ego Draconis with a M/KB, dunno how they do it, I cannot play it without a controller tbh. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Then don't buy games that focus on gamepad controls, that's your choice. Just don't tell me they're not PC games, because they are. In an increasingly laptop-focused market mice aren't even standard equipment anymore and they certainly weren't when PC gaming started. There is nothing in the PC gaming rulebook that says a game must have mouse controls, let alone good ones. Hell there is no PC gaming rulebook, that's kind of the point.

Strange, I couldn't see myself playing that with a gamepad. I guess, I should try it out.

Because, you know, I played Batman: Arkham Asylum with mouse and keyboard and felt that it worked fairly well. Then I switched to gamepad to try it out and, yes, it works even better.

Sometimes, I make Gamepad Profiles for older games to try out how they would be controlled with a gamepad and, you know what, they often work quite well that way.

I think, one great thing about PCs is, that we can do anything with them, the way we want to.

I used xpadder for my 360 controller (D:ED doesnt support the gamepad) and it was great for dodging and flying, I would have binned the game if I hadnt the pad tbh, it totally opened up an awesome game for me. I also have Two Worlds 2 on PC and 360 and I find the pad much more viable....could be just me though :)

what's with all the gamepad talk? i played the demo with mouse + keyboard and had absolutely no issues.

i haven't used a gamepad on my PC since the days of the Microsoft Sidewinder controllers...

I'm not saying that I don't want the PC to have options for different hardware/peripherals. It is totally fine with me to have PC games that work better with a gamepad or a joystick or whatever.

I just think that when a game is ported to the PC (something like Assassin's Creed, since that is an example of a game I enjoy and find not too bad with a keyboard and mouse (and it is obvious that the controls originally were for a gamepad) - though I've heard it is much better with a gamepad) the ported game should be able to play just as well (or at least fairly well, see Assassin's Creed example) with a mouse and keyboard.

I would like to be able to choose to play whatever game that is on the PC I want and not be forced to learn a new skill to do so. I don't think there are any games I've played that are such gamepad focused games that I haven't been able to play them, so my issue is sort of a moot point at the moment. I am just saying I don't want that to happen.
