And the winner is post #23: RaggieRags

I generally like my life a lot but there are days when I realise more than on others that my life is good.

So after seeing too many people of the medical profession for the last weeks:
1. I apparently don't have breast cancer. (YAY!)
2. I slipped on snow and didn't tear the ligament in my knee completely. Just a little bit.
3. I finished my last classes for this university term today.
4. A good friend and I started to meet every Monday to paint miniatures for Blood Bowl. (She's painting a Nurgle team and I'm painting a Lizardmen team)

I'm a happy Piran. :-)

Now to the part that really interests you. I'm giving away one copy of Deus Ex on GOG.
1. No rep requirement, no account age requirement.
2. Tell me something that happened to you that has to do with snow. Something painful, something exciting, something funny, I don't care.
If you haven't had any contact with snow yet, just tell me about what you would like to experience if you had access to snow.
3. You can enter for somebody else as long as that person has told a snow story.

I'll close the giveaway on Sunday, don't know at which time exactly.

Not in, but thanks!
Not in, I already have it. +1 :)
I envy you right now I am in going through midterms.
Snow related: always ready to fall on ice and always managing to reestablish my equilibrium in the last moment. Other than that, my life is pretty dull and boring.

But, yeah, thank God for the little and big favors in life.

In, thanks and a +1
In, and +1, thanks for the giveaway, dudeski.

As for the snow story, it was quite painful for me, funny for everyone else. I'll keep it brief, though, so as not to create a wall of text.

One day, I was sledding. I was a lad of about ten years old, and my friends were building snowmen at the bottom of the hill. You ever see those cartoons where the sledder hits the snowman and is pretty much inside the snowman with his head sticking out? That's about what happened to me. Except it was just the front of the snowman clinging to me, the back was obliterated, and my head was inside the snowman's head.

Life is Beautiful
Really glad youve had some good news and that your taking the positive view point, congrats and may it continue!

May i enter please?

not the best story but walking to work one morning, when we had really really bad snow, public transport / emergency services were not even in operation etc - i slipped, then slipped again, sprained something, my whole uniform was soaked through and when finally made it into work (on time too!) work strongly "suggested" i go home and change, oh and this would be using my break time for my hour shift too!
They were not to happy with my explanation that id just end up in the same soaked through state given how bad it was out there so was a little pointless; not to mention that most of the staff didn't bother to turn in either! - and no they wernt even told off!

When I was about 10 or so and we'd just had a big snowfall, I was at a friend's house sledding (he had a really steep, long driveway). His big sister was there and while I was having a run on the sled, she thought it would be funny to pelt me in the face with a massive snowball. I couldn't see where I was going for a few moments and just as my vision cleared, I slammed head-on into a barrel full of dirt. Although the impact itself didn't hurt me, what did hurt was that the wooden sled broke underneath me and a big sharp splinter came up and scraped the hell out of my crotch area. Fortunately I was dressed in a few layers of clothes and had good protection, so instead of losing my balls, all I ended up with a long, thin permanent scar down there. I never could muster the enthusiasm to sled after that.

So yeah, I'm in the for the Deux Ex drawing, thanks!
Not in, but thank you for the giveaway and, indeed, life is good!
Not in, but glad to hear about the positive results of the cancer screen!

Something funny and painful... When I was about 15 living a bit farther north I was walking home from school. I slipped on a patch of ice on the sidewalk and slipped, fell, and broke my left arm. Oops.

Three days later. Mom went out the front door and down the steps to get the mail. She slipped on an icy step, fell, and broke a couple ribs. Oops.

Dad heard her yelling for help (as much as one can yell with the pain of broken ribs) and went out to help her. He hit a slippery patch, fell, and broke his right arm. Oops.
Well, I wish I could be in. Still +1 for you.

The reason I can't be in is because I don't have any snow stories.

There is no snow in my country and I've never been in the winter season of a country when it is snowing, so I guess I'm out.
