OOC: The door is well and truly stuck. Looks like you need to find another way into the shower room, or find something else to do/another place to search.

Handing the flashlight over to Coleman, you tell him that if he's going into the vent he's not going alone. "You head in first and then i'll follow along behind you." you say to him, to which he nods and mumbles something barely discernible about "crazies" & "liabilities" as he prepares.

Grabbing the flashlight from Staines, you head gung-ho style into the vent, crawling along on your belly and knees. Pausing for a moment you look behind yourself as best as you can to see if the others are following...."Bloody crazies better not make me wait here all day or get me killed." you mutter to yourself before shouting to Staines & Bundy "You guys following or what?"

"I'm coming.....keep your pants on." Staines says as he enters the vent behind you & you nod back before heading off on your grand explora-ditions(Exploration expeditions......it's a word....I think.).

You see the others have entered a vent in the guard station office and an idea forms in your mind....maybe one can enter the bathrooms through the vents? Approaching the vent entrance you ask Bundy(who is still outside the vent) if they need any more help.

"Nah mate.....we're fine. You should stick behind here with Frank though, and keep the home front safe.....along with our friend Charlie." he says in response, as he preapres to enter the vent as well.

You state jokingly that they better hope you don't seal the vent behind them out of spite, to which Bundy motions to his gun and adds "Nah you won't do that mate.....and ruin our beautiful friendship & make me waste a bullet and all.".

Grumbling to yourself, you head back into the Bunkroom to keep an eye on things.

OOC: You don't have to remain in the guardroom, but there are 3 people in the vents right now and they don't need anyone else along for the "ride" right now. You can search any of the unsearched areas, mumble to yourself, etc.

After exchanging a few words with Tanner, you head into the vent following Staines and Coleman.......clutching your gun to your side as you follow the others through the vents.

Trundling along in the vent, Coleman shines the light forward as he presses on ahead of our motley group. Turning the first corner he notices a shaft leading off to one side......looking into it with the flashlight he notes that it drops for about two floors or so from what he can see. "No chance going this way.......shaft just falls into blackness." he calls back to Staines and Bundy, who follow closely behind him. Turning back to continue down the main shaft he bumps his head, nearly dropping the flashlight into the other shaft.

"Hey, careful with that.....it's the only one we've got." Staines hollers ahead to him as Coleman yelps in pain for a moment.

"Yea yeah.....I will be careful." Coleman says in reply as he heads on until the shaft turns once more(heading north). Inching along in the dim light, you three have one thought mainly on your minds above most else.......if those things swamp this shaft you are likely to be well and truly fucked. Hopefully that won't be the case here......although the three of you can hear the familiar *shlump shlop* noises coming from somewhere ahead.

Eyeballing another shaft up ahead to your right(heading east), Coleman whispers back something about scouting it out. Staines and Bundy nod and wait while he goes down the side shaft, keeping their weapons as ready as possible in the small space as they watch the light slowly fade as Coleman heads off.

"I hope he gets back soon.....who knows what could be lurking in here with us." Bundy says nervously to Staines.

"We'll be alright......if anything comes at us i'll whack it good and burn it up right & proper." He replies back as they listen to the ambient noises in the darkness. Luckily though you don't have to wait for long, as the familiar light from your flashlight shines slowly and surely into the main shaft as you watch Coleman reenter from the side shaft.

"So, find anything useful or another way out of this shaft?" Staines asks, to which Coleman replies "Bloody shaft has collapsed in on itself about 12 feet or so in.....looks like another one of those spider beasties caused a ruckus in there and it collapsed in on him......we gotta press on and find another way through."

Continuing on, Staines and the others follow behind Coleman to the north as the shaft goes to the west for a bit before going north once more. As you round the bend, you note that the sound....whatever it is...is getting LOUDER. "I don't like the sound of that" Bundy replies as he clutches his gun and looks forwards as best he can with the others in front of him.

"Whatever it is, it's coming from a vent opening up ahead.......I think the room it leads into is the shower room." Coleman says in reply as he heads for the vent cover, looking through it as best he can. "Yes, it is definitely the shower room.......looks like baths area from what I can see. The lighting is shot to shit in that area and only some of the lights appear to be on, but it seems clear."

"Try moving down into that dead-end in the shaft there so I can try my crowbar on that vent cover." Staines says as he moves forward, waiting for Coleman to move out of the way enough for him to get in front of the vent cover. Finding a good spot to apply leverage and bracing himself against the opposite wall of the shaft, he pries the vent cover with as much force as he can muster.....and within moments the cover pops off and falls into the adjoining room with a loud *clang*. Pointing his flare gun into the room he surveys it as best he can.

"It appears clear, although the curtains in front of the baths are drawn closed. And whatever is making the noise appears to be coming from behind some of them." Staines says as he motions to the others that he is about to enter the room, and that the others should follow him with weapons ready. Nodding in affirmation they watch as Staines jumps down into the room albeit as quietly as possible. The lights in the baths area are half burnt out but some still function, allowing you to see clearly. To the NE you spot the door leading into the rest of the shower room, and to your south and north are the baths......their curtains closed. Now that you are close to them the noise is very clear.....something is behind them. And something that is VERY SMELLY from the 'look' of it.

"Damn what is that smell?" Coleman asks as he enters the room and turns off the flashlight. "Whatever it is most likely dangerous though, so keep your weapons ready while I pull open the curtains."

"We got your back." Staines replies back as he holds his crowbar at the ready & Bundy readies his gun. Pulling aside the southern set of curtains one after another, you are all thrilled to find nothing behind them. When the curtains surrounding the NORTHERN bathtubs are pulled aside, though, a look of shock and fear fills your faces as you are greeted with the sight of 3 very dead corpses, their bodies desiccated and discolored. Surrounding them are many slime covered objects which look like some sort of larvae which seem to be attached to the bodies.

"What the hell is going on here?!? This is nuts. Are they patients....guards maybe?" Bundy shouts, his voice filled with fear.

"Well they're pretty messed up now, but i'm sure I've never seen them doing the rounds in our ward or passing through it. One of them looks like one of the guys they carted into solitary last month though." Staines said as he examined the bodies as best he could to make sense of it all "It looks like they're being used to make more of those small creatures though.....for what purpose, well I dunno.

"I think we should kill them all before they hatch and fly up and eat off our faces." Coleman says.

"I agree........the less of those *things* the better." Bundy says as he readies his gun to fire.

"No need to waste your ammunition. I have a better idea." Staines says as he takes out the smoke bomb and rips the top of it open. Within is a substance akin to black powder(made from various substances it's owner "borrowed" at one point from various place) in strength, albeit situated within the smoke bomb itself so as to burn slowly and make alot of smoke instead of explode. "If I pour some of this along with some whiskey on each of the bodies we should see some results. Before I do that though, you guys better rip down the curtains nearby so that they don't spread the flames beyond the bounds of this area."

Pouring some of the contents of the smoke bomb into each of the tubs over the nightmarish mess within(along with a bit of whiskey) as the others remove the curtains, Staines preps his flare gun and takes aim.

"Stand back then." Staines says as he motions for Coleman and Bundy to stand back. "Don't want to become premature burn victims now do we?" Shooting point blank you hit the middle tub and it's contents and watch as they set alight. Taking one of the torn curtains you set it alight using the flames coming from the center tub and use that to set the other two tubs alight as well before throwing it(flaming curtain) into the center tub.

As the bodies start to really burn you are startled to hear chittering and shrill "shrieks" coming from the larvae as they burn......acrid smoke starting to fill the air. "Damn that gave me quite a scare. Gah! That smell is giving me a headache. Let's get out of here." Bundy says before heading for the door into the rest of the showers room. Opening it with a sigh of relief, he heads into the showers room hall. Staines follows suit and heads into the hallway, but Coleman stays for a moment and says a short prayer for the dead before leaving. "Rest in peace friends....crazies or not, no one deserved such a fate."

OOC: Ok guys, feel free to check each area in turn of the showers room. The area you searched in this story so far are the baths area of the showers room. You are now in the showers room hall.......to the east are showers area 1 and showers area 2, and to the north is the door leading into the changing area/locker room and the showers room entry room(that small bit in the NW corner of the showers room.).

Also To Rodzaju/Staines: The flask of whiskey is down to 4 uses/swigs from 6 before, and the smoke bomb is half empty(Though you could still seal it up and the remaining half with enough effort.)

And Day Two map has been updated with basic layout of the showers room and it's subsections. The clues found(dead bodies in tubs) and some other misc stuff will be added in a few hours or so hopefully.

You take a swig of whiskey to clear the smell of burning bodies out of your nostrils and throat.

OOC: Also no replies in two days? Was it because I said earlier that no one should reply for awhile until I wrote up the latest chapter? Well it's up now so everyone is free to write again at any rate. Also btw in 4 IRL days[I hope.] we will be moving to the new "day" in the game[Day 3] so make sure to get your fill of the current area before then.

You pound against the showers room door, hoping that the exploration team found a way inside so they can get this blasted door open & you can take a shower.

Listening at the door, you hear nothing much beyond what sounds like muffled footsteps from a far off distance.

"Hey guys! Let's grab the spare shower curtains.
We can wear them like ghosts & scare the shit out of Tanner & Bundy....!"
