There’s a million aliens out there thirsting for your blood; can you slaughter your way to the exit?

These classic top-down shooters have you killing enough aliens to make Sigourney Weaver blush, and this two pack of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/alien_breed_tower_assault]Alien Breed and Alien Breed: Tower Assault is available for only $5.99.

Alien Breed is a classic run-and-shoot action game that has you fighting a variety of bulbous-headed aliens with an insatiable hunger for your flesh. In a distant future, you control one brave space ranger or (with a friend) two fearless cosmic marines who blast their way through maze-like levels crawling with hideous space monstrosities to find the lift down to the next level and--hopefully--to escape the doomed space station that you’re on. Clearing the space station completely will require killing hundreds of nasty aliens, buying new weapons, medkits, ammo, and finally blowing everything up. For us at GOG.com, just a regular day.

Alien Breed: Tower Assault follows a similar alien slaying scenario as the first game in the series. However, it is much less linear than its predecessor and offers 276 possible ways of completing the game (yes, we checked).

If you wished in 2012 for an alien-infested space stations and soldiers on a suicide missions, well, you’re a little crazy. But if you wished for a fantastic game about alien-infested space stations, GOG.com makes your dreams come true with a powerful double combo from Team 17: Alien Breed and Alien Breed: Tower Assault for only $5.99.
Too bad only few of the Amiga AB games made it to PC:

Are the newer "Evolution" line of AB games any good?
timppu, depends. Unlike the earlier Alien Breed games where they regenerated the enemies, the newer ones do not. Good for single player, but multiplayer is made easy. The levels I found were mostly uninspiring. They were average for me, didn't even want to see how the story ended. I played and finished the first and second one, but didn't bother with the third. Then again, if you can get them cheap then you might get some satisfaction from them.
Not familiar with this one, but the screengrabs remind me of Shadowgrounds that I really love, especially the pic with the flashlight in the dark. I may be way off, but can someone compare the two games if possible? Would I like this if I liked SG?

I think I played a bit of AB 1 once long ago and liked it immensely. I'm sure you'll love this if you love stuff like SG/other alien-monster-zombie shooters.

TomNook: Hopefully Tower Assault includes the hilariously bad FMV.

Lafazar: It is included in all its cheesy awesomeness.
Excellent!
Think I'll pass for now... will see if I change my mind if it goes on promo
Thanks GOG! I use to play Alien Breed on my Amiga 600, together with my younger brother. Nice memories. I always loved to fight alien, so I would be even happier if you published Space Crusade!
I have the Amiga version of AB, So I´ll pass this one.
game doesn't work, asks for a code from a codebook not included by GOG, then nothing starts the game.

Is it included in the extras?

No, it isn't, just checked. I had to find it elsewhere on the Internet. Why GOG didn't have this check removed, I dunno.

Report it to GOG then via the support button above then the contact us forms.

Also how did the issue happen? Did you just install and run the game? And if so what did you click the game icon on the desktop or the main game exe in the folder or what? Also what OS did you experience this on?

game is installed. Run from desktop icon. OS is Vista 64, why that would matter to a virtual DOS game, dunno.
Huh, I just typed something random and the game ran fine. It loads a bit slow though, so if you're impatient you will start wondering if the game has crashed on a black screen.

Try what StarEye said and type anything at that screen.

You can adjust the game's speed in the dosbox conf file in one of the game folders. Open that file in notepad and look for the line labelled cycles and change it from max to like 15000 and save the file then exit it and try the game again.
