Kakihara: Ah, that's pretty cool actually.
But those 3GBP could easily be ascribed to the fact that it has a manual, comes in a dvd cover etc. You know, all the material stuff. And apparently this version is already XP and vista compatible so there's little for GOG to enhance.

According to people who bought it (I already had the CD version from earlier, and didn't bother getting the DVD), it's the exact same as previously. The game already worked well enough in VIsta and 7.
I did buy the Baldur's Gate rerelease, as that was the only one I didn't have legally before, and my impression is similar: it's exactly the same as the previously existing CD version.

I have it, there is no printed manual, just a slip of paper, the manual is in .pdf form on the disc.
that's right, you get 1. dvd cover 2. dvd 3.dvd case 4.slip of paper.

Are not 2 and 3 the same?

ah, sorry, I meant dvd case for #3
I can just hope GoG goes for a lower price as more and more games older than 15 years become available. In my opinion they are barely worth 3$ and that's mostly because sometimes manuals for those games are very hard to find. I practically bought the first two Tex Murphy games because the manuals were included.
I hope GoG does not turn into the "Bill Gates of 'old gaming' " if they continue to slap ridiculous price tags on something which was available for free for a long time before.
6$ for a post-'96 game is barely okay.

GOG isn't slapping the prices on them, the people who own the rights to the games are slapping the prices on them, GOG either agrees or disagrees to the prices, and if they disagree either the game won't appear or they will compromise (i.e. adding extras to justify a price, etc). $6 is very cheap in comparison to how much the game retailed at to begin with which would have been more likely $50, which in adjusted terms, could have been $70-$80 at the time.
This is called a precedent. Amazon gave into publisher demands, charging $15 for a Macmillan book on the Kindle rather than the normal $9.99.

Delixe: Dangerous. If GOG were to introduce say a $14.99 price point to please Activision the other publishers like Ubisoft would also take advantage of it. At the moment all Ubisoft games regardless of the value (HOMM i'm looking at you) are $9.99. If there was a $14.99 price point then it's not unreasonable to assume all future Activision and Ubisoft titles would be $14.99 each.

But the thing that we have to understand is that there are companies who may not release games to GOG because of the $5.99/$9.99 price.
To me, even if the price goes up on some titles to please the publishers, I'd still buy the games.
Remember, there are games on GOG which were out of print for years such as Mean Streets, Martian Memorandum , etc. For example, used copies of Martian Memorandum were going for almost $100 a pop. Would you rather see companies not releasing their games to GOG because they don't like the low prices?
I'm ok with a $14.99 tier being added to the price model.
Even with $9.99 avaiable we still get lots of games at $5.99.
With another tier I think we could see more publisher and some modern classics like Stalker, Untreal Tournament 3, Dawn of War etc comming to GOG a lot earlier (yes i'm optimistic).
Delixe: All Activision games so far cost $5.99.

I made that post before the announcement. I have since gone on record as being impressed by Bobby and his pricing.

Sorry about that then. Atleast now, in retrospect, that post just seemed a little pessimistic :P

It's okay, but I'm the jaded cynic around here though.
I think that They shouldn't change anything - 6 and 10 $ is just fine. If any game costs more than 10$ it means that GOG should wait until it's value will decrease.

What about newer games DRM Free. I would pay the higher price to play a newer game that is DRM free. I know we like the inexpensive prices but after all we love GOG for DRM Free Gaming. At least I do.

some games, the value doesn't decrease, it just goes up. Like was said earlier, Mean Streets was going for a good $100 retail before released on here. If they had waited, it would have never come out, ever.
