Red_Avatar: Ugh, on the one side, I really want to pre-order this but 45 euros is a lot for only digital content :( If this was a RL copy, I'd snap it up right away but digital content is just not the same ... Still, very grateful that they want to give $16 value to us Europeans - but I already own all the free games. I wish I wasn't so tight on money right now ...
Actually the 16 they're offering cvan be used on ANY gog title, and is in addition to the bonus game being offered as well.

if you already have all the free games they'll give you something else.

For those users who preorder The Witcher 2 on GOG.com and have already purchased all of our announced free titles from the GOG.com store before The Witcher 2 is available, we'll have an alternative gift.

I'm intrigued. Might preorder it.

MikeFE: Massive disappointment: They could have at least released The Witcher 1. Maybe others will spent 45 euro for a game. I won't - no matter what. That's why I liked GOG so much: Great Games for little money. I'd hoped to get The Witcher for 10 dollar or less. Too bad.
Please try to think of it from the different angle. They cannot sell new games cheap it's not going to pay off for the development expenses so the price is non-negotiable, but they can make it DRM-free which is the news for the industry. It's a miracle nowadays to buy a DRM-free game and DRM restrictions become more and more intrusive (while the games become more shallow and boring); that's where the industry is heading right now.
This one is not even a step back it's step AGAINST these draconian rules. You may not buy it but why wouldn't you support the gesture?

I'm buying it just for the sake of it.

Yeah one free gog, plus 16 dollars worth of gogs to those living in europe to account for price differences.
I am a huge fan of both The Witcher and GoG.com.

I am also an opponent of DRM.

Thus, I believe that this move should be greeted with an all-round applause.

Yes. (Pre-order'd)
BAM. THAT IS IT.

GOG will now take over Steam.

(in the case of cd projekt games only)

ilias71: Hello Guys,

indeed this is a wonderful offering with all those goodies included, not to mention the game itself. One minor remark though: I allready own all those games to choose from as added bonus, thanks to my generous funding to the GOG-foundation. Any chance of doing something extra-special for some ûber-loyal customer??

Filthgrinder: Reading is hard eh?

"Gamers who have already purchased all of these titles from GOG.com's library will be offered an alternative title instead."
My bad, clicked on the pre-order button without reading the announcement thoroughly, and I happen to be quite exhausted after working 12 hours on end behind a computer screen -just can't put letters in the right order anymore or so it seems.;;

Thanks for the info and the little ray of enlightenment;

Cheers

I don't own Gothic II on GOG - but I own it three times next to that. Once as part of the Gothic Universe box, once separately as the Gold release and then once on Gamersgate since it was on sale for $5 or so and I liked to have a digital copy - this was before GOG had it. So either I get Gothic II a fourth time or ... A game of choice would have been better.

Yeah, even eBay.co.uk and .com.au (I'm always checking the overseas sites for Amiga CD32's, since for some reason the console was never properly released in North America, even though Commodore was a North American company. Yes, there are new companies using the Commodore and Amiga name, but that's neither here nor there.). There's a "Limited Collector's Edition" available for about 40GBP on the .co.uk site, but it's the one that has just the artbook and map, but no medallion. The conditions listed for the books and discs aren't "Mint", so I can only assume that whoever pawned it to this merchant kept the medallion for him or herself.
TBH I'm not sure. GOG has the DRM-free and the goodies but Steam has Steam Cloud (when it works it's brilliant) and achievements. I live in Canada so the prices don't affect me.

Yeah but Steam takes a big chunk from them too and I'd rather have my money going to CD Projekt, and Steam Cloud - it's a tiny deal. Dropbox works just as well you know? If you set your Documents folder as Dropbox folder, you can make every savegame automatically transfer between computers. Plus it works with ALL games. Plus, achievements? Hardly a big deal.
Just preordered. Nice to see GoG knows the difference between euro and dollar,
and not the way steam fucks europe on a daily basis.
Support DRM free games .
Because I love the way you work I instantly preordered the game even If I've never played to the Witcher 1 but I hope to buy it on GoG soon !
This is a damn good deal.

Its much cheaper here then it would be in real life for me (australian), and even has an oppertunity to expand my GOG profile while im at it.

I will definatly consider preordering here! to all those of you who are saying that this is a game to get a physical copy of... stop and think what you are saying. You'd rather give money to EB or GAME... who will give a small percentage to our friends CD Project. Or, buy it here and give the entire figure to them! Personally removing the middleman is worth it if it means CD Project gets more cash
