balkep: Err... GOG guys, do you really think that we came to this website to buy new games?!
It's a one time thing, dammit.

Well, they surely don't think we came here to buy good games when they released Master of Orion 3, Empire Earth 3, or Lionheart.
I wish I could choose The Witcher for my bonus RPG with this offer:)

When they're games made by the company that runs GOG, yes, I think they have a good reason for thinking so:)

Also, some GOG games aren't that old, e.g. Two Worlds.

Eh, Lionheart I will forgive, it really needs a BG/IWD/PST style "unfinished business" mod to put in features left out of the retail version.

As for GOG having the Witcher 2 as a promo, I think it's pretty cool. They are sister companies after all and it is DRM free and will certainly be good. I am tempted to buy it but I will wait for a physical copy and probably hold out in case of expansions and a final Ultimate version.

I would like to see the Witcher come onto GOG when the Witcher 2 comes out, that would be pretty cool.

I don't want to sound too fanboyish, but if you like RPGs you owe it to yourself to play Gothic, horrid controls and all.
I still have to finish the original Witcher! Time is my enemy...

Would it matter if I were? If I enjoyed the game...what does it matter to anyone else?

That is all I'm saying. People are to quick to judge another...over something as silly as a game.

I know people that hate something like Duke Nukem 3D and think it is the worse game ever. I don't, I love it. Life goes on.
Dang - brand new, full-featured, full-length RPG to be available DRM-free. That takes some balls. I seriously hope people get the point and reward CD Projekt with purchases, and I hope that it leads to some new successful industry marketing that doesn't treat paying customers like closet criminals.

Best of luck with this move.

Ever game is DRM free for pirates, I fail to see much of a difference.
True, but if you're not a pirate then it's nice to get your games without some of the hassles that come with today's copy protection. As a paying consumer, I appreciate that they're doing this with a brand-new release.
As someone who has consistently refused to pay more than $20 for any digitally distributed game due to the invariable DRM, and who considers preorders rather laughable, let me just say... Holy shit that's a nice deal! Done and done.

Guess this goes to show that if you offer a good product at a fair price with no hassles you can win over even hype-resistant, tinfoil-hat-wearing, anti-DRM bastards like myself.

BTW, how did you guys manage to convince Atari to go along with this DRM free release? You must have a seriously badass motherfucker handling your negotiations.
GOOOOOOOOOG, You are my new love, realy!!!!!!!

DRM Free is a big risk, but i really think it will not be as much as a difference in sales as piracy will always be out there, no matter how strong DRM can be develop. Pirates always crack games and we legal buyers always got screw with DRM pain, so this is great. For once we legal users are considere inocent until probe guilty, with respect and confidence. It may not seems much, it may sound silly as its only a game, but for me it makes all the difference. I am a Steam user for like 7 years, i got 111 games with them, i think they got a great service, but every game GOG have as Steam does i got only from GOG, just for the DRM policy, so if you guys start selling new games like this you got a customer in me (at least for great games like this ;) ).
More so, this will be my first full price preorder game (i a cheap bastard who always wait Steam sales... i will buy this in GOG even if Steam start a sale discount now...)

So, bottom line, yeah, DRM makes the difference for me...

PD: sorry for the bad english, i usually speak (i mean write) spanish ;)
