Interesting idea. I may pre-order the game from here, but I'll have to think about it.
I love The Witcher. Fantastic.
Unexpected but hardly unwelcome. Sure, I'll pre-order it. Not that I guess I really mind, but doesn't this sort of conflict with the philosophy of the site?
That's... I... Wow, preordered

GOG.com: A DRM-free, AAA, new title on GOG.com? Yes!
GOG.com has now crossed some line. Not sure how else to describe it. I'd like the next chapter to see GOG working towards eliminating vendor-exclusive content, as well as the Steam Achievements that are unfortunately specific to Valve/Steam.

Maybe GOG.com can publish a vendor-agnostic open API for in-game Achievements and out-of-game Achievement tracking, retro-actively applying them over time to games in their catalog, and offering the API to developers/publishers around the world. Just a thought.

As you are in the States it's understandable you don't jump at it. For Europeans it's a no-brainer unless you absolutely have to have the box or the collectors edition.
Now to wait until Swedish stores realise the CE will be available, I can only find the "regular" edition currently.
Preordered! I love the first Witcher game and i am sure the second one is great too.

playedout: This is great. My question is:

Do the saved games stay on my PC or are they only saved on an on-line server?
They'll be on your PC I think as that can be considered a form of DRM (the need to be online to save the game)
Wait what?!

Ok, let's try this... maybe no DRM can really work ;-)
OH CRAP, I ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED THE BUTTON. Is there any way I can duck out? I don't want to be forced to pay once it releases.
I thought this site was about old games?
Done!!! preordered! tnx GOG
Loved #1, hopefully love #2. Pre-ordered button clicked.
I don't like this... I hope CDP only doing this with his games.
