We didn't choose the thug life. We've been blessed with it by fate.

Omerta: City of Gangsters, an organized crime simulation that will let you dominate 1920s Atlantic City as a mafia boss, is available for pre-order on GOG.com for only $33.99. That's 15% off the regular price! The offer ends on Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT, when the game is released.

Omerta. Remember the word. Back in the day, I wouldn't have to lay it out for you, kid. Everybody knew how it works, even a complete cafone. You don't talk to the law. There. Easy as that. Anyone who talks is a rat. And a rat deserves to be popped, just as any vermin. So, whether you are a made man, a goodfella, a wiseguy, or just a thug, you live by that one simple rule. You never talk. Even if the coppers ask you to rat out your worst enemy. Even if by telling them something you could easily wipe out your whole competition. You don't do that. You just don't. Unless you want to end up like Eddie the Eel. Funnily enough, it turned out that he couldn't swim. At least not in the concrete boots he couldn't. But I digress, kid. There's really just one thing you need to remember: Omerta. As in: shut your pie-hole. Capisce?

Omerta: City of Gangsters brings life to the prohibition-era Atlantic City, where you struggle for power against the law enforcement and--most notably--other mob families. It's a multi-layered urban simulation complete with turn-based tactical combat. You're an aspiring gangster slowly recruiting a gang of partners in crime, working your way up the criminal food-chain, and hoping to--one day--become the Capo di tutti Cappi, the boss of all bosses. With over 15 hours of gameplay in each unique playthrough, 20 detailed territories to claim as your own, and a cooperative or competitive multiplayer modes Omerta: City of Gangsters is the organized crime simulator we've been waiting for!

Pre-order Omerta: City of Gangsters before Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT for only $33.99!

Oh, by the way--since this is a pre-order, this technically doesn't count as our 500th release. You'll have to wait for that till tomorrow, and there's a good reason to visit as then, as we have something special planned to go with that milestone.

But now, back to Omerta:

I'd like to be excited about a new Kalypso release coming to GOG but after their epic fail with Legends of Pegasus I'll wait for the patches before I even consider another one of their games.
"This video contains content from UMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds"

Seriously? Are those copyright claims even submitted by real people or do they have some sort of automated system that reports these. Either way, It's stupid beyond comprehension that they won't even consider official channels and instead block everything.
1:16 in the video, I didn't know "the man in the yellow hat" from curious george was into such shady business!

So GOG refused The Cat Lady , Academagia: The Making of Mages and 1931: Scheherazade at the Library of Pergamum but can't say " No " to a not yet released Kalypso game .

Well i think this is one of those games that i will not miss from my collection .
Hadn't actually given this game a look yet but it does seem somewhat interesting. Not full price (regardless of preorder discount) interesting though. Will give it a while to see player reviews and pricedrops.

Hey lackoo how was the time travel experience?

Anyway I'm looking forward to this, having loosely followed its development since its announcement. Glad to see it's going to be on GOG too. Could go both ways though, so I'm going to wait for some impressions from here and other communities first, but to me, the promise of organized crime + turn-based combat is exciting at least.

Interesting, I wonder what that something special will be....
Good. GOG needs more new games than just kickstarter games and humble bundle leftovers.

Aningan: At first I was "the setting is interesting enough but I have too much games already!". The I saw this:
turn-based tactical combat
Wait a minute!

[Wishlisting game]

Thanks!
Ah Kalypso, one of the most disappointing publishers around, Disciples III, Dungeons, Jagged Alliance - big expectations, but in the end one failure after another.
They publish games I enjoy at least, although granted some could've been better. Port Royale 3, Jagged Alliance Back in Action, Patrician 4, Grand Ages Rome, all games I enjoyed. Dungeons... wish I could enjoy it but I haven't been willing to try yet. M.U.D. TV and Airline Tycoon 2 seem mediocre but I imagine I'll spend some time with them nonetheless.
Well this is a big surprise. NOt planning on getting it but still nice to see a new drm free game.
Not interested in the new games here or that genre, and at that price (without the context of the prices elsewhere) in general I went "._.", but it seems to make other people excited/interested so I can understand GOG bringing it here.
I was thinking of preordering it on Steam. But DRM free and £4 cheaper makes it a much better deal here.

Really, they rejected those latter two? Source? (Sadness.)

I'll probably pick this up eventually, but not until a few solid reviews come in to show it's not a total flop. I'm just not an early adopter/preorderer anymore.
