HereForTheBeer: So it sucks. To you. Doesn't mean that it can't lead to something interesting or useful to those who are... not you.
According to this thread it ain't just me? ;)

(BTW that last line shoud've had this smiley on the end of it...:)....as it was only half serious. Sorry for the confusion.)

What I don't get(odd me) is how you don't seem to want one yet are defending it so much? 0.o

What I'm defending is the fact that Razer is trying something different. Lots of great products and ideas have come out of things that initially looked like failures, or from things that seemingly nobody wanted at the time.

Now if I were into:

a) tablets
b) a more casual style of gaming
c) arcade-type games

a detachable set of handles like that look like something I might buy into, given a decent price and ease of connecting it to the tablet. I'm not into any of those things so it holds almost no personal appeal to me, but I can certainly understand how some folks might like a peripheral like this. Using the tablet's gyro to add a new motion to, for instance, side-scrollers could make for some really cool gameplay dynamics. Hopefully those game and product developers won't lose heart from all the naysayers.

What I don't understand is the borderline hate (okay, that's not the right word) for this thing, especially since there isn't a single damn one of us who has laid hands on one, let alone actually used it.
Because it's our right to call stuff crap if we think it is, and it's not hurting anyone involved with making it or those who buy it if we do? ;)

And again, different does not always equal good. If I want to call it crap i'll call it crap because to me(and others) it IS crap.....and encouraging stuff I see as crap, to me, seems like a dumb idea. :P

It looks alright to me. A bit ugly and awkward looking, but I'd be willing to give it a try.

I remember the iPad attracting a bit of hate too when it was first announced, but lots of people use it now :)
Nor does different equal bad.

I have a feeling you think I'm sort of criticizing you for the notion that you don't like it. I'm not. I'm saying that it's good to see them try new and interesting ideas. I, for one, can see at least one fun application for it even though it's not my cup o' tea. Now, this idea might turn into something very cool, mildly cool, mediocre, or an outright failure. Maybe it'll lead to something completely different. Who knows? At least they're trying, and that's a good thing regardless of what the current idea looks like.

Someone MIGHT modify this idea and run with it to make something worth buying, but this itself won't be it. IMO this will massively flop, unless the mainstream "buy everything that's new and shiny" crowd buys into it that is.

And again, trying is not always a good thing. ;)

Those with no engineering or electrical background could design a building and most likely make a complete mess that wasn't quite up to code. Yes it's good of them for trying but would you want to inhabit or do business in said building?
Never mind mind. This bores me.

Well as long as they don't price as much as an Alienware DESKTOP.(i.e. gold plated toilet range)

Don't get me wrong, some of the alienware cases are designed mad awesome as fuck, and I love how the hdd spaces are arranged on some of them(and port spaces/etc) but the pricing is crazy on them compared to if you built one yourself. Someday I gotta see if I can find an alienware case(they sell bare cases right?) and fit all my components into it(currently have a hdd stuck in a dvd bay with a bay adapter and would really like to seat it proper like in a hdd cage with the other HDDs)

Nah. I'm more wondering what he wrote. I always wonder what people wrote and then deleted when they do such things in threads here. :)

Granted, The case is awesome. And on the topic of building one, i must build a new one, but im probably gonna wait for the GTX 780.

I would check to make sure that it isn't a re-brand of older tech(like the vid card makers do sometimes) before plonking any money down on one. Just my two cents.

Also imo bleeding edge tech is a waste of money regardless. I usually buy the last generation(or sub generation) at bets to save money/etc. I mean why pay double the price for one generation(or even less if it's just a rebrand or small step up) of improvement over the last when one could spend the difference on other stuff one wants? ;)

Yeah, im going to check performance charts and everything first. If it is like they claim (they say its a major step up, but all companies say that.), then i will probably get it. If not, well their not getting my money!
