Paranormal investigation with a retro soul.

Blackwell Bundle, four supernatural adventure games from publishers of Resonance in a DRM-free package, is available on GOG.com for only $9.99 (that’s 33% off!) for the next week.

Blackwell is an indie series of retro-style point-and-click 2D adventures consisting of four games: The Blackwell Legacy, Blackwell Unbound, Blackwell Convergence, and Blackwell Deception. The game’s main character is Rosangela Blackwell, who discovers a family secreat after her only relative, her aunt Lauren Blackwell, dies. She’s a medium, and she finds an unlikely friend in the form of Joey Mallone, a sardonic ghost from 1930s. From now on it’s Rosa’s and her new spirit guide’s job to investigate supernatural cases in NYC and set the troubled spirits to rest.

Blackwell Bundle offers everything a classic-adventure fan would ever want from a new release. The story is engaging, features plenty of drama, some bitter humor, and dialogues that will suck you in like a good ghost novel. The game requires you to to switch between Rosa and Joey to talk to different living or ghostly characters and solve puzzles which are both logical and challenging. Add some retro pixelated graphics, great voice acting, and an original score, and you’ll find the Blackwell Bundle to be a quality adventure series that is not only an easy recommendation for the fans of the genre, but also a good starting point for those who weren’t lucky enough to play some of the classic point-and-clicks from the Golden Age of adventure games 20 years ago.

Blackwell Bundle is available on GOG.com with a 33% special release discount--for the next week you can get the game $5 off for just $9.99. This offer lasts until Tuesday, June 5 at 6:59 AM EDT.

DukeNukemForever: The old bundle with the first three games costs 20€ (maybe 20$) on gamersgate. Deception costs 10$ from the developers page without taxes, so wer are above 30$. And please, stop comparing to indie bundle sales, which are special sales and not regular prices. 15$ for all four games of the series is a good price.
Special sale or not, they're still chances to get the some of the same games(Other indie games, not these perse) for alot less.

Also, when I said some of the indie titles were too overpriced here I wasn't talking about this release(Which is why i was asking if this release is worth it or not.) and these titles.

wormholewizards: This bundle included four games, but they're all quite short. Maybe around 60 - 90 minutes for each one. It's like 4 episodes rather than 4 games if you take the gameplay hours into consideration.
avatar
GameRager: If they're short then that's all the more reason to want to save money when buying them.

Still is buying them here cheaper? Or buying them in the bundles(considering all the factors)?
See DukeNukemForever post. I think the latest one (Deception) wasn't included in bundle before. So i think this deal is kinda exotic + exclusive for $10.

rampancy: HOLY CRAP.

I really don't know what to do. I've been wanting Deception for a while but I already have the other three (and their soundtracks) from a past Indie Royale bundle. Geez...
Blackwell Deception alone on most other DD sites costs the same as the discounted bundle here on GOG, so this particular decision should be REALLY easy (that goes double for for Europeans!).

Plus it comes with all the soundtracks!
I'm not a huge fan of adventure games in general despite the fact that I've played and enjoyed dozens of 'em and I'm rarely happy to see a new adventure game released on GOG but I must admit that this series managed to intrigue me after I a read a review of the newest title. Will definitely pick it up next time my wallet gets fed.

I just saw his post after posting mine. It seems this is a very good deal, then. I guess i'd best save up for it(I wonder if it'd be better to buy it when I have money BEFORE it goes to full price, or wait for some sale of indie games on GOG in the upcoming months?..:\..).
soooo great! I just fell in love with WadjetEyeGames recently! So I will very happily buy this!
Looks interesting, I might pick this up.

Edit. Checked steam page, the bundle with all four games costs 19€ for me and proxy says 20$.
From what I can tell the Steam version was 14.99 only so far, so even at the up and coming Summer sale there's a chance 50% is the best it'll be so for the foreseeable future this deal on GOG is as good as any probably. Assuming you're not looking to get it cheaper seems like a good deal.

I can see the argument about getting the previously bundled games cheaper though.

GameRager: Supporting GOG and having all your games on one shelf is fine, I guess, but imo some of the indie titles on here are a bit too overpriced.....especially as several of them have been in bundles for alot less.

(I dunno if this is a good deal for all four games if one has never bought any of them yet. Anyone care to fill me in on this?)

60 - 90 minutes? If you are an adventure game warrior maybe...
Personally, it took me at least 3 hours for each game (3.1 hours, 3.4 hours and 3.8 hours according to Steam).

wormholewizards: Wadjet Eye Games promised Resonance will not be in any indie bundle in near future.
not holding my breath on that one...

avatar
wormholewizards: Then, how about this one?
several Blackwell games have already been part of one indie bundle or another, as have Gemini Rue and The Shivah.

I don't really check Steam, but I guess the 14.99 belongs to the old bundle with the first three games. Regarding the gamepage the bundle was updated on 13. Januar.
this seems like a really good deal. 4 games and 4 soundtracks for $10!

anyone know if they run on a mac with the assistance of a wineoey?
I HATE adventure games where you have more playable characters with different skills who need to cooperate! I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM!

(yes, basically because I suck at them :) otherwise I love them :D

14.24 actually now that I rechecked. It was the price the week after the 13th to the 20th so it was the introduction sales price.
