A game with eight legs to stand on!

Octodad: Dadliest Catch, a heart-touching story of a Nautical-American struggling to be the best parent and husband dry land has ever seen while keeping his true nature from his loved ones, is available 20% off on GOG.com. That's only $11.99 for the first week.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is about destruction, deception, and fatherhood. The player controls Octodad, a dapper octopus masquerading as a human, as he goes about daily life. Octodad's existence is a constant struggle, as he must master mundane tasks with his unwieldy boneless tentacles while simultaneously keeping his cephalopodan nature a secret from his human family. In this original, imaginative indie title, you'll be challenged to live through a full day in Octodad's life, and even venture outside the house. There's tons of physics toys to play with. Jointed objects, springs, slippery surfaces, and more! Combine that with visual style inspired by the American 1950's aesthetic (but with futuristic twists), and what you get is an appealing bundle of slapstick fun you will never forget.

Wrap oll of your available arms around Octodad: Dadliest Catch on GOG.com, for only $11.99. The 20% off release discount offer lasts until Thursday, February 6, at 5:59PM GMT.
I ... I ... I need to have this in my life.

Telika: This looks retarded. Wishlisted.

reaver894: I agree with the first bit, but replace wishlisted with dont touch with a barge pole.
I agree with the first part and replace the second part with "instabuy". It take all kinds of folks :D

(...) octodaaaad, nobody suspects a thing (...)
Friggin hilarius.

I am happy to be occasionally totally surprised by indie releases. But about actual gameplay - is it any good? Have no way to try it out myself at the moment.

tinyE: Okay looking at those screen shots this game should go in horror survival. :P That dude has "Pyramid Head" beat by a mile on the creepy scale.

Magnitus: Judging by your avatar, I thought that game would be right up your alley :P.
Took the words right out of my mouth... :-D
One of the cutest...and most FRUSTRATING games...I've ever played. Yikes.
Sweet!
I don't believe it's possible for homo sapien and octopus to reproduce.

Crosmando: I don't believe it's possible for homo sapien and octopus to reproduce.
Apparently you are wrong.
Octodad could be a stepfather or his spouse is cheating on him.

Magnitus: The game looks cool from the preview video, but something nags me.

Probably pointless to debate this in a imaginary world where an octopus has human-like intellect, can survive outside a body of water, mate with a human and produce viable offsprings, but... how come his kids look 100% human?
They're adopted :(

Damn, this game sound crazy. I like it! Even the title is crazy "Octodad: Dadliest Catch", dafuq.

Might check it out in the future.

Saw a trailer for this a few months back and thought:

1) This is hilarious!

2) This is ridiculously original!

3) Wow, this is the dumbest game ever! LOL

Added it to my Steam wishlist because it just seems like one of those things you *have* to play and experience the stupid craziness yourself for some laughs, kind of like Surgeon Simulator 2013. Glad to see it has landed on GOG! Removed from Steam wishlist and added to my GOGtopus wishlist now for the future!

May other devs of upcoming games see the light and do the same as well!

(Hey, maybe the developers of this and Surgeon Simulator could get together and create a cross franchise sidequel blend of the two, Octodad Surgeon 2014? It'd probably play much like the current Surgeon Simulator though hehe.
Played through this in co-op today with my girlfriend and I each controlling a side. Hilariously awesome. Difficult at times but it was great.

It only took 2 hours for us to complete but I'd recommend it nonetheless. You won't find another game like it. Plus, there's mod support (on Steam at least, haven't read up on whether the DRM-free version has it) so there's always the chance for more hilarious levels to come out and extend that amount of time!
What a guy!!

skeletonbow: ...kind of like Surgeon Simulator 2013.
Except that I actually kinda want to play Octodad...
