Planescape Torment was more necrocentric than androcentric :) and featured some wonderfully vivid and well written female characters, like Fall-from-Grace and Annah. Hm, time to play that again...

Never tried TW; something about his hair....
First two books were not translated into english. First and third book was. They skipped second (Sword of Destiny) which is idiotic because it is important to the story, even introduces second main character.

And AFAIK Witcher 1 takes place 5 years after final book ended.

Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish are just short story collections. Out of novels, only the first one was translated (Blood of Elves), I think.
"Just" a short story collection that introduce main character of the novels and serve as an important introduction to novel saga story overall, yes.
I will start very soon re-playing Witcher from the beginning and in the RPS article (mentioned in another thread) I saw somebody mentioning that :

http://www.moddb.com/mods/full-combat-rebalance1

it's supposed to make the combat harder and more "strategic" by changing the combat system and the skills.

It's sounds interesting on paper but I was wondering if anybody here actually tried it ? does it makes the combats interesting/balanced or is it something only recommended for ultra-hardcore Witcher players who can finish the game without being hit once..

SheBear: I think I remember Geralt's hair being obnoxious looking, but that being the only annoying graphical thing.
Yes I agree! To me all these hairstyles that look like modern hairstyles in the Witcher games and other RPG's that take place in fantasy worlds that are inspired by medieval times are very annoying.

And several magnitudes more annoying is the amount of women that are dyeing their hair in the real world these days. Especially the very ugly platina-blonde colour so popular in my country. I like both brunettes, blondes, the raven-haired and many other natural colours but all this artificial colouring makes them look less like humans and more like dolls and that is not a good thing.
(And I do know that that women are here for more important reasons than being eye-candy, I do however think it is part of my right a man to privately objectify and look at them.)
