maggotheart: 1) Neverwinter Nights 1&2.
I was DMing a game and during this scenario myself and the player kept rolling only 1's so everyone kept critically failing. It led to a hilarious encounter with a fat innkeeper who was trying to kill him, and both combatants kept tripping, dropping their weapons, knocking over furniture and so forth. it ended with the innkeeper tripping and falling on top of his character, accidentally getting stabbed by two daggers and the player being unable to get out from underneath his bulk. He later had to be rescued by his friends.
Congrats. Check your pm's for a ticket (one-way) to Neverwinter....

Not sure why, but your story reminded me of an old D&D character I played too many years ago.
He was a pacifist cleric.
Every time the party killed a monster, he would give them a lecture about the evils of violence & then he would give the monster last rites....
Eventually the party dropped a treasure chest on him from a great height....

Lifthrasil: 2) In for Syberia.

How would different scientists react, if they wake up and see a fire in their room?
Well, the Engineer would grab the fire extinguisher and empty it on the burning spot. Problem solved.

The Phsicist would remember from the lectures the laws of the progression of flames and first take a good look at the fire to analyse it. Then he would take the fire extinguisher and extinguish the crucial spots. In the end the fire is extinguished as well, the physicist has a slight smoke poisoning (from taking so long to think) but the extinguisher is only half empty.

The mathematician would notice that there is a fire and that there is a fire extinguisher. Then he would go back to bed, content that a solution exists.
And Syberia is yours.

Anyways, congrats to the winners and thanks for your generosity, Rod! Congrats on your fourth shuriken, mate! :)
Unfortunately, TinyE didn't reach his goal, but it was always going to be a stretch.
