How about Recettear: An Item's Shop Tale, I have played the demo, the price points and shoppers seemed quite transparent to me, the dungeon crawling bits were OK. Is there some twist in the game's mechanics later on so it's not getting too repetitive?

Have you gotten crushed by the Adjustable Rate Mortgage yet?

Not really, but I didn't find it to be a problem. In fact it's not recommended to dungeon crawl until later in the game, in the beginning you seem to make more money just by buying and selling items.

Like pen_sq said, the mortgage price goes up like crazy really quickly, people start making requests for items, market prices go up and down, everything together ends up making it a fairly tense game all throughout.

nijuu: So its the Encore day. The usual suspects are on it Really boring. Why are people buying the kerbal game?????
avatar
DaCostaBR: Because it's been featured on the front page with big discounts at least three times so far, which is why these encores are rigged.
I remember it was last year. Rumors of Valve just picking the games THEY wanted to be in Encore instead of the actual best sellers

Any list of "hidden gems" in the Steam sale? I know many games are really cheap like McPixel, but I haven't seen a comprehensive list.

Wow, that sucks, but the reason I complained is that they don't even need to do this. If every game was featured with the deep discounts once per sale then the encore would mean something, but when a few games show up several times then it's obvious that they'll sell more than the others. That alone already counts as manipulation for me.

As for hidden deals, the first thing I do in these sales is check what low-profile games are ultra-cheap. Doing that I already got in this deal Bionic Commando: Rearmed, DLC Quest, Nightsky (which he mentioned), Nimbus, Jamestown, The Last Remnant, the Time Gentleman and Ben There games (which he also mentioned) and Skydrift. Did you find any hidden gems?

Alright, I'll try and make the list. I'm not sure what the cut-off point will be or if I'll skip some rubbish ones, but I'll try to make something more or less comprehensive.

Me? Not really. I jumped on Just Cause. Only real cheapies aside from that for me were Puzzle Quest (cant find it anywhere but Steam and that includes er.... illegal sites) & Under the Ocean (quite curious about this game. so cheap even for an alpha). Ridge Bound Racer is pretty good for the price. But aside from that, not really (i have most of the games i want) some small dlc aside

Well, very disappointing sales altogether. I might pick up Kotor 1&2, I have played them a few years ago, pirated back then :( (yes, I was a dirty pirate and only GOG and bundles are to blame for my conversion :P). But I'm not sure they'll work on windows 7.

The only game I was going to buy from the sale was Kingdoms of Amalur, and it didn't get a discount at all. :-(
