SirPrimalform: In case anyone missed it: They have confirmed to me by PM that it'll definitely be DRM-free.

Get pledging!
I've just had confirmation by PM also. I wanted to make absolutely certain that that we were agreeing on the definition of DRM after what I was told yesterday but the game will apparently be installable and playable without Internet access which is what I wanted to hear.

This hasn't been the best bit of public relations on their part but at least we have ended up with the right decision and hopefully no lasting harm done to the campaign.

I did miss this. I assumed you were going off the "new" announcement of being DRM-free. I've also PM'ed to explain that I considered product activation and the use of Steam as part of DRM. If they can promise DRM free, I can forgive the misunderstanding.

Would still have preferred them just say, "we are changing our minds" versus "we don't know how this got confusing". The former would have been greatly appreciated and lauded.

No response, but being day 2, they are likely getting lots of messages.

Yeah, same. After large number of contradictions in a short space of time I needed to make sure they had the same definition of DRM-free as GOG.
ok, got my response back. They are confirming no DRM, no internet needed, and a method other than steam for those interested. Sounds good to me.

I can back this game ;)

One more confirmation:

Thank you for your message, we're glad we've been a part of your childhood. I can confirm, having just spoken with the programmers, that this will be 100% DRM-free. While we are still looking into having Steam as a distributor, I can guarantee you that there will be an option to install without connecting to the internet.

Thanks for your support in bringing Tex back!

FUCKING ACE!

lugum: Drm free or not the rate it is going now (barely $10k a day) it might get hard to reach the goal.
Hopefully there are alot of last minute backers.
Just did a quick calculation to get a rough estimate:

$450,000 - $178269 (goal minus current amount raised) = $271731 (amount left to raise)

$271731 / 29 (amount left to raise divided by number of days remaining) =

$9370.034482758621 needed per day (on average) to reach goal. A very rough calculation, but it should give you an idea of whether it's falling behind or not.
@SirPrimalform: what you want is here: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/251414413/tex-murphy-project-fedora

Obviously the longer it goes on, the more accurate the projection is as the large spike at the start throws projections off somewhat.

actually, sirprimalforms number is alot more useful :P
that kicktraq number is kindv like "itl be accurate by the time the fundings done!..when you already know what it is...."

Yes, but I did mean more the other graphs on that page, showing the contributions and backers by day

Yeah, comparing the 'amount per day' graph with my calculation should help us to see whether it's falling behind or not.
