TCMU2009: My friend and I have both been inspired by Shane Claiborne (if you don't know who he is, look him up), so I went with her church's ministry to Louisville today to feed the homeless. We set up a van on the side of the road, and served bowls of lasagna and passed out drinks to everyone who came by. No pamphlets, no proselytizing, just food and conversation. And let me tell you, that's all these people want; to be treated like human beings. Some of the people we served were actually good friends with the church group cause they've done this so many times. Everyone was good natured and friendly to each other, everyone was extremely grateful and kind, and everyone shared their food if they had enough. Then we went to some of the tent camps they have set up around the city. It's awe inspiring how resourceful people are when they have nothing. One guy lived way back in the woods near an overpass, and built a cabin sized tent solely out of old billboard ads (they're just tarps.) The companies apparently give them to this guy for free after they change them!

I'm not typing this to win Syndicate. In fact I almost feel guilty. But I want people to know that there are actually a lot of Christians out there who actually care about people, not just conversion. We aren't all Gingrich's and Santorums.
Let's see, how many copies.... Yeah, you've automatically earned one if you're still in it.
I'm going to enter now because I've been doing this thing for a while and I will continue to do this thing daily. About every day since I moved to this new house over the summer I have been taking care of the local neighborhood cats. This neighborhood has like around ten cats that need taking care of so I've been feeding them and grooming them when I get the chance.

Thanks for the chance at syndicate If I win this thing I promise to play it, I love me those Bullfrog games dude.

Edit: Since the new rule was added, I just wanted to say I am in this for Syndicate, I already got all the other games listed.

Edit: Thanks for the giveaway. I'm withdrawing. I'd feel guilty winning when there are many others that need / deserve it more. Cheers!

Today I have to work overtime because customer's demands are somewhat higher than our manufacturing capability and I have spent most of my worktime helping a few workers here with measuring and pre-packing our products. Also I have shared my chocolate with them which was my lunch because due to some mistake my lunch order from yesterday was not valid (the system fucks up sometimes). Girls got happier a bit and I have spent my worktime quite productively. Meanwhile I have did my work as a quality inspector where I had to.
No, I refuse to be a decent person!

Kudos on the idea, though.

Done a good deed for the day today involving animals.

We were going up to see to our horse this morning, got about a half mile away from the stables and were met by 9 of male horses running towards us with the yard owner and the stable hands running behind them.

My wife screeched the car across the road which startled them enough to stop them. Thankfully they were stopped by this and the hands managed to get head collars onto them, they had bolted from the field when they were being put in as they had got spooked. If the horses had managed to run another half mile they would have ended up on the main road with busy traffic and at a rough guess only half would have survived as it is a busy road.

Thankfully I had my hat in the car so jumped out and offered assistance taking one of the larger horses. Thing is with me I have a spinal injury, so with my walking stick I endured the pain and extremely slow walking speed down an embankment back to the safety of the yard and stables.

It was a great feeling what I had done and the yard manager had a chat with me about the help I had given. So pleased that nothing happened to them, they are animals and they have a flight mentality when getting spooked.

Navagon: What sense does the title make? Let me tell you. As I'm sure you're all aware now, the Syndicate agents are sent out to cause mysery and suffering in the world. As my agents I want you guys to do the opposite.

Go out there and do something nice for someone and post about it here. Yes, in the real world. Scary, I know. But give it a try. Needn't be anything granduous. Just make soneone's day that bit more pleasant is all I ask.

MUST BE DONE AFTER THIS COMPETITION WAS POSTED (3rd Feb)

Valid entries, (as determined by me, you're overlord), will be fed into random.org. From the mangled remains 5 winners of a GOG copy of Syndicate shall be chosen.

So, to recap:

1. Do something nice (for once).
2. Post here before the 16th of Feb.
3. Edited entries will be invalidated, so post again instead if need be.
4. ????
5. Win Syndicate!*

Closing date for entries is midnight GMT on the 15th of Feb. After all, the 14th is a great 'doing something nice for someone' kind of day. I reserve the right to not feed you to random.org for any reason I so choose.

Edit: Rules Clarification: You must have done your act of kindness after the 3rd and before the 16th of Feb.

*Only guaranteed if less than six people enter.
*applause*

Absolutely awesome, Navagon. Bravo on such a fantastic idea for a fantastic game! (I'm not going to enter since I already bought it on release.)
I have officially driven my friends to Ft. Wayne, IN for a Yu-Gi-Oh regional qualifier, and am posting this from the Grand Wayne Convention Center's free wi-fi. Officially entering now.
Every month I have budgeted 3% of my income to go to charity.

Aside that I volunteer my time working on a media player project called Banshee (www.banshee.fm - check it out, on Linux, Windows and OS X).

I've been meaning to give blood but am prevented presently since I've taken medication that disqualifies me for 3 months.

I also help out the local Brazilian students with their English.

Of course I also do evil to balance out things, mainly plotting to take over the world and ruling it with an iron fist. That plan however is not going so well.

There are now alternative games listed in the opening post. If you're interested in any of those then simply mention that in the same post as your entry.
Well I posted about this earlier but forgot the do not edit rule when replying to the new thing about the new prizes. For me I just want to be entered for Syndicate because the games listed I already own.

Really my good deed for about every day for a while is taking care of the neighborhood cats. Most of these cats are either malnourished, hungry, or just in need of care so ever since I moved to this new house over the summer I have been taking care of them. For the count right now there is about ten or so cats in the neighborhood since there is a new kitten walking about that has to be taken care of. I am also trying to work with a few of the animal groups in the area to get the cats fixed, give them some shots/medicine, and maybe help me with the food prices.

Also this time I have included a photo of two of the cats I have been taking care of sleeping in one of the flower pots.

I did not do any major good deeds today, just a minor one. I helped a friend who was panicking over an upcoming math exam with some math.

Thanks. But apart from already owning the Indie Gala bundles, I would rather be evil ;-P.

I like being evil.

I play too. Working on getting together an anti-meta HERO deck.
